Q:

Matador r3m .25 shooting predator poly mags

Hi does anyone on here if the predator poly mags .25 fit the edgun matador r3m magazine?? If they do what are they like for grouping and comfortable ranges??

Seen some great reviews but not using an edgun although teds holdover channel shows him using them @ 50 yards with good groupings

I’d like to use these at range on rabbits and close game such a squirrels in the woods so if anybody has experience with these please comment

Thanks guys

Sounds good..all I need now is my gun to hurry up and get here..will play around and see if I can get them to perform for me..the real test and one that I’m really looking forward to is”100 yard plus groups with jsb Kings 25.39 grains

Edgun is meant to be a good long range choice”or so I’m told so once zero it will be straight out to 100 yards if the conditions are right..I’m confident of my ability as I’ve used rifles upto 308 caliber with good results and used air rifles since a small kid.

I’m hoping the edgun will achieve inch groups at 100 yards with some consistency but time will tell

I concur with Keyser^^^. My 25 long is set to 940fps and the poly mags are good out to 60. They just start grouping funky as you go past. At 885 fps they shoot same poi as Kings out to 75.
At 940gps they are around 3/4-1″ at 60yds as opposed to kings producing one ragged hole. Still acceptable for hunting and the pure energy dump is just wicked vicious.

Thanks for your replies..I have found that the edgun can go as much as 11mm so both the long and short poly mags will fit

I have used the short in .22 but in the USA only the standard length Polymags are offered in .25 caliber. My only experience is with them. The EDgun magazine is pretty deep, the standard polys fit.

Thank you for the reply..you confirmed my fears as I did not think they would be great past 60 yards..I could see these being great for squirrels and corvids and as you have confirmed my thoughts I think I shall buy a few tins

Can you tell me which type I would need please?? Or will the long and short poly mags fit the edgun magazine??

The polymags will fit in the magazine of the R3M. They function and cycle with no hangups or malfunctions. The EDgun shoots them O.K. I have had 3/4 inch groups with the .25 polys out to 60 yards. Past that range the dispersion is less than appealing. The BC of polymags is not great and as a result they do not retain energy well. I would say that past 50-60 yards you are much better off with the standard JSB. Inside 50 yards however they are wicked. They tear crows in half, rip mean holes in fir game and generally kill even if the shot is not perfectly placed.
