Q:

R3m .22 on the way and I have a question.

I did what I thought I’d never do and parted with my beloved .22 Cricket. Frankly, I was getting a bit bored with it and decided to try something new.

I have heard that the Edgun is louder than the Cricket. Is this true? If so, what is the best remedy besides increasing the OAL with an LDC? Does Neil make a replacement shroud? I have one from him on my .25 Cricket and it is like a different gun. I am somewhat of a snob about loudness and am always looking to make my guns as quiet as possible.

Thanks in advance for any useful information.

That’s pretty brave of you to do this. Or was cricket accuracy boring already

I had it for three years and, yes, the accuracy was boring. I am not complaining. I have always wanted to try an Edgun and a good opportunity came up.

Keyser, the new offset moderator for .25 is not as big as .30 one.

Beer,
if you remove the factory shroud it will effect accuracy. The EDgun system uses a tension free float barrel system that must be in place. The EDgun is not loud. I think it may be a little quieter compared to the Cricket. There is a new system from EDgun that will be here soon. The EDgun offset moderator is really good. It makes my 80 foot pound .30 caliber as quiet as my Matador .22. Based on my experience with the .30 EDgun the offset should be excellent in .25 and .22.

For me EDgun is more quiet.
