Q:

Hello and help

Hi guys.
This is my first post so I would like to say hi.
I live in the UK.
Ok. So my question for help needed is this.

I have a Edgun matador .177 single shot and love it.
In the uk you need a FAC to have anything over 12ft pounds.
I have had my visit from the firearms office and all went well.
I am trying to decide on calibre and length.
I thought I had decide on .25 long. But now I’m not to sure.
My shooting will be mostly long range rabbits. Squirrels, pigeon etc.
I will also be doing target paper punching with it once a week.
Any help would be great in helping me decide.
Many thanks
Mark

cheers for the replies.

Yes, that is true.

Check you plastic .25 mags because I saw some of them which did not have the proper machining, I mean some of the holes were too tight and the pellet’s head was resized.

Cheers guys.
Out if interest are all the spare mags now plastic? I had a matador .22 only for a short time. They had 4 mags 2 metal 2 plastic.
Getting g 4 with the .25 but told there all plastic now.

25 long with JSB 25s at 940fps. 72 shots regulated is a rabbit destroyer and extremely accurate out to 150.

Good choice on the Eddie

Great choice .25 Caliber Matador is a great gun. Accurate and powerful. it’s a long range range killing machine

Go .25 and smile each time you thud something to death 😉

UK lad here also.

From what I have heard the new off set moderator is great in the .25. It really quiet. Anyone so back that up?
So am I right in saying there is about 20 shots less in the .25 than .22?

Plenty of people have gone back to .22 but mainly because the ammo is cheaper and because a .25 is very thirsty, so less shots per fill, also louder. But I cannot tell you which one is the better option, just go with what feels right

Thanks for the reply.
I was just about to update my post to say I have decided to go for the Standard size. It’s what I have got now and like it. I think getting the along just for a change and a few more shots may not be the way to go.
I think I am choosing the right caliber.
Has anyone gone from a .22 to .25 and then gone back?
I put some data into the Chairgun app and the trajectories are very similar. I like the idea of extra whacking power.

Hello, Mark and welcome to TAG!! If you are allowed a high power air gun I would choose the standard Matador in 25 cal. The new JSB heavy 33.9 gr pellets have shown alot of promise at long distance accuracy. The Edgun platform is a proven one but every shooters needs are different. GOOD LUCK
