My friend is buying an FX IMPACT but
I have told him he might be happier with a VULCAN, based on the feedback of user reviews in this forum.
If both are in cal .25, did I give a bad advice?

I have 2nd gen Vulcan 25 and 22 cricket. I sold my 25 cricket and got the Vulcan which i’m very happy with. From taking the gun out of the box and shooting it I will say its the best experience yet by a long shot. Its short and does not have the shot count a 25 cricket does but at least its nice and short. Service from factory is pretty impressive so there is very little to loose.
From out-of-the-box, based on the reports of the excited owners, there seems to be a chorus singing praises for the Vulcan, even as it is supposed to have its bugs like every new airgun there is.
There may not be a perfect airgun, but it seems the Vulcan is nearest to be one. I do not know that for certain, I just read about here and there, and everywhere.
All airguns have flaws and issues like Keyser said when the perfect gun arrives I am first on line. Impact is new and bugs will have to be worked out like with every airgun.
My thoughts exactly Key, look at how Evgeny has already worked out the bugs on the .25 by updating the bolt AND offering to replace free of charge a new bolt to anyone who has a .25 cal Vulcan. All he’s asking is that you return your old bolt.
If you told him to pass on the impact you gave him good advice. I have owned a few PCP guns and they all have pros and cons. The perfect PCP is yet to be invented. The Vulcan is a great rifle and the newest version is much better than the first generation Vulcan that I owned. I was the beta tester for the Vulcan just like Ronin is the beta tester for the impact. If this is your friend’s first go at high end PCP he does not want to be part of the beta testing team. This impact will eventually be a good gun but right now it’s the same old song and dance. Manufacturing flaws design errors and Ernest working on how to fix them. Just like the Kalibergun Colibri. I waited to own the Colibri until Ernest worked out the bugs and it has been flawless for me. He should wait to buy the impact because if FX doesn’t work out the problems the gun will have zero resale.
He just sold off his Cricket Rifle in cal .22 two months ago.
This time, he is getting the Impact. But since he often asks me for my input, based on what I have read here, I told him about the Vulcan. I have the feeling that I may have given him a bad advise.
If its his first true higher end pcp and a 25 is all he wants then the “Vulcan” may be the way to go it.
I like my 25 cal Impact but it is a new and innovative rifle that is a little more complicated to work on with that there will be some little bugs to work out.
