"The best" .22 Bullpup
In this forum there are a few kategories for different bullpups such as, kalibrgun, vulcan, edgun, p12, taipan etc. But wich one is “the best” if you want a .22 that is both accurate and air efficient? It has to have a magazine, not single shot.
Certain things to go on:
Air efficient
Loudness – quiet
Looks?
Accuracy
Reliability
Easy to fix leaks
I don’t know a lot about most bullpups for I am still new to it and have only owned a cricket .177 however I want a .22 and it is my understanding that the Vulcan is the best choise. I know there is no perfect gun but if you had to choose wich one would you take and why?

I ship outside the usa all the time….
I agree that the cricket is nice, good accuracy and easy to work on. Just yesterday I created a gauge removal tool in about 2 hours time or so and now all that is missing is a reg tester.
But if I manage to sell my .177 cricket it would be fun to try something else. I really like the look of the matador r3m but it has the reload bolt in an even more awkward position than the cricket so the vulcan is very interesting. I might not try and sell my cricket until next year sometime though, we’ll see.
I agree Eelect. My .22 Cricket is spot on and never have I had an issue with it. That’s one gun I’ll never sell.
if there is such a thing as the best I would have to say 22 cricket because I love mine, its very accurate and does the job for me. I bought mine used and had to fix all the issues it had but when everything is said and done I like it very much.

But my 22 and 25 Crickets shoot so dam good I can not sell either one, Be stupid on my part, One hole is one hole like I said before,
I wished I could handle and shoot the Vulcan and Mutant, But I think the nearest PCP owner to me is 300 miles away,
Really I am going to wait until all the bugs are worked out before shelling out 1,500 bucks for another gun that will not out shoot the ones I got,,
I really live the fact the Vulcan 25 has the CZ barrel, The 22 mutant had some start up problems with the CZ barrel , I could be wrong. ( maybe fixed now)
But really who wants the B/P that was been out there for a long time and proven itself a million times over, The Cricket…..
I do really love hearing why your gun is better than mine, I really have no problem with it and you may make a sell , I am game.

This is just my opinion but the “hypothetically speaking” best bullpup for me would consist of this:
– Kalibrgun Colibri type action with one piece machined rail with 20 MOA incorporated (with maybe a full length reservoir since 300 bar is a tad high)
– Steyr removable pressurized reservoir (ability to carry spare air in the field without hauling a bottle/pump)
– Edgun simplicity, fit and finish and quality walnut stock
– Daystate wood-checkering
– FX Impact interchangeable barrel option
– Taipan Mutant type cocking lever forward mounted and trigger/linkage (I hear it’s one of the best for a bullpup)
– AT Vulcan customer support
– 26″ LOA with no added LDC required (meaning it’s mouse fart even in .25 cal)
– Possibly a shorter/compact version in .177/.22 for backyard use/pesting
If I had the knowledge and means, I’d design one and get Ed to manufacture it. Why, because he’s the most active manufacturer on the forums.

Dman pretty much hit it right. The Mutant stock looks ugly but is is very ergonomic. The only bullpup that competes with the Mutant’s ergonomics is the Colibri. The EDgun is the most accurate. I have made some insane shots with my Eddie. The .22 EDgun is boring to shoot at 50 yards. I have actually made smiley faces with it at 50 yards, blown out candles and cut playing cards with the gun. If the new offset is up to the task it the EDgun may achieve “best” status. The Mutant is a really easy gun to shoot in my opinion.

There’s no overall “best” in my opinion. Generally speaking, all high-end bullpups available today that are regulated will probably out shoot the shooter. Whether it fits your eyes, ears and trigger finger is more or less individual preference.

I’m gonna toss out some thoughts…..
Accuracy… for me. My edgun is a lazer.
Looks goes to the edgun.
Quietness goes to the mutant. (Although I’ve never heard a colibri which may be more quiet)
Trigger goes to the mutant.
The mutant I feel is the most efficient airgun I’ve seen.
Magazine and cycling also goes to the mutant.
The mutant is also lefty or righty..
As far as the stocks go edguns have great looking wood.
But the feel in your hands the edgun sucks.
Ergonomics would go to the mutant
Now I’m sure that the vulcan has some place in the lineup but I have never seen or shot one so I can’t say.
Now I know what your thinking…. why he hasn’t mentioned cricket. Well. The mutant is everything the cricket is and much more….
The one thing holding the mutant back right now is the stock …
Ed gun matador, with shorter waits for parts in the EU!!! It WORKS!!
