Q:

Take the Trade?

Have the opportunity to trade my Cricket .25 synthetic (full Ernest tune) straight across for a Vulcan .25 that has a full Ernest tune and a TGAG moderator. Only thing that holds me off is that with the way its tuned it only will do about 3 mags before falling off the regulator and needing to be refilled.

Should I do it?

Just talked to the original owner of the Vulcan. It’s a first generation that he put some money into via Ernest in an attempt to quiet it down including dropping fps down to the 880’s, de-ping of the rear spring, regulator efficiency tuning, and the shroud was upgraded with Colibri style baffles. However, according to him, even with the TGAG screw on LDC, he did not consider the Vulcan to be neighborhood friendly.

I really don’t know what to make of it now. Love my Cricket, but sure wouldn’t mind lighter and easier to manuever, but not at the cost of being loud. Wish these things were more popular so I could test shoot one before hand.

Cricket is the best. But Zonk is necessary to shoot 5 targets due to eliminate fortune

Alright so I’m stupid, but I was born that way…..

Ditto. My .25 Cricket is the most accurate Airgun I own… No Ping, slap or any drama. In fact I never had to do anything to it in 2 years of use..Came from WWAG shooting 25 grainers at 950 fps. Just Chrony’ed it and its still the same. Accuracy only got better, and it mimics Zonks results above. Cleanings a breeze. 3 patches and its clean..it will only be sold when the .25 Colibri’s come out. Lol

I’m glad you enjoy your 25 cricket. My experience with cricket 25 was not like that and was glad it’s gone. But I’d never sell my cricket 22 to get a 22 Vulcan. It would be very stupid indeed. Heck I’d recommend guys picking up used crickets instead of buying anything else.

This should say it all

That being said though….

Those of you who say you wouldn’t get rid of your Cricket to get the Vulcan, yet you would have both…..

What does the Cricket do that the Vulcan can’t?

Yeah…just go ahead and rub it in guys….totally making me feel better about it lol

:8: :8: same here……
