So Aggrevated I’m Sick To My Stomach
I don’t get much time off and when I do, it’s usually spent with the kids or running errands. I had designated today to be THE DAY that I was going to get out back with the air rifles.
I have a 22cal Talon that I shoot with the kids. It’s been working fine. I shot it a few weeks ago and everything was great. Today, I air up the tank and IT’S LEAKING! It’s coming from the brass insert under the tophat…where the stem goes in. So, feeling a bit frantic (I don’t have extra tanks), I put it in the gun, shoot a few times and then I listen. Now it’s just a slight leak. I topped it off again and now the leak is bad again. Same thing…shoot it a few times and the leak lessens. I go to top it off a third (and final) time…I had set the rifle on it’s side on the storeage bag I keep on the back rack of my 4 wheeler….crash! I can’t believe it. It bent the windage knob on the scope and cracked the mount! After taking it all apart and putting it all back togetherusing levels, it shoots about 18″ left with full adjustment. SO AGGREVATED!
Anyone have any idea what the leak might be?

Definitely coming from under the brass
Was it the o ring or seal?
I’m ok now. It was just very frustrating when it happened. Everything was going great with that gun. It’s always been the one I can rely on.
Parts, yeah they might be less liberal, but repairs usually go pretty smooth. Might require some social grace and if that doesnt work then callback later and bullshit them. Write up your own reciept or proof of ownership. I think that their lifetime warranty is transferrable anyways….. If worst case scenario just invest the $ and pay them to fix it and be done with it….. No reason to let it get ya down. Once its fixed its a done deal. Remember this is all about your leisure and recreation. If you are a tinkerer and enjoy satisfaction working on things to relax,,, then do it yourself. But dont let it get to be a source of frustration. Maybe if it is getting to you, maybe Airforce isnt the one for you and you might find another brand that you can enjoy better…. I dunno … My point is that frustration is no fun and that you need to get the most enjoyment for your free time . You cant put a price on that. So maybe we cant afford not to invest a little on ourselves! :2cents:
Your rifle has a lifetime warranty and they are very liberal about extending it to anyone with no other proof of ownership other than possession of their product.
Remember, you work and toil alot. This is your hobby and leisure time to relax. Dont sweat the petty shit,,,, pet the sweaty shit! Yeah, I know aggravation sucks, so step back and relax. Once ya get that tank/valve back, make some EVEN MORE TIME FOR YOURSELF, be sure to allow yourself enough time UNRUSHED. You and your airgun will do fine!

I did not purchase it new therefore I have no proof of ownership. I called AF last week and asked for some of the white power wheel o-rings and they would not send them for free without proof of ownership. 😕
It may seem to be a big hassle, but,,,,, wrap up your tank and box it up to send it back to Airforce.

Take soapy water and make sure where it’s coming from. If it’s leaking from around the brass it’s the o ring. If it’s out of the stem hole it’s the delrin seal.
Any help would be greatly appreciated?

O ring is 014 and true value hardware has them.
