Q:

Fabricated a mechanical safety for my Cricket Std….pics

Out of sheer boredom (and to see if I could do it), I fabbed a mechanical grip safety for my early Russian Cricket 22. I have been shooting 45 Auto pistols since the 1980’s and wanted to see if I could fab a spring-loaded grip safety, like the Gov’t .45 pistols have. For those who are unfamiliar with a grip-safety, it basically renders the gun in a constant state of “safe”, that is until you overcome the small spring loaded lever and the gun becomes “hot”. Let off the lever & trigger and the gun’s “safe” again, even if you partially depressed the trigger, it returns back with a “click” and the gun’s once again in safe mode….. I also wanted a safety mechanism that I could remove the stock like normal for frequent service/maintenance and nothing would fall out or go flying across the room. Needed all motions to be fully adjustable as well. Primary safety parts are all Tool steel and Grade 5 Titanium. Secondary parts are tool steel, Aircraft grade aluminum & Delrin… Very fun project & after 500 shots, it works perfectly… Enjoy..

That is a really good idea! I had a colt air soft with that type of safety and it is brilliant
