Q:

Stripped set screw hole

The rear / side hole…where the set screw goes through the body and enters the rear barrel bushing is stripped out. I believe it is a 10-32 but now I can push the 10-32 set screw through with my thumb. What size would I need to drill and tap it? Will drilling the bushing hurt anything as long as I stay the same depth as what it is currently at?

When shooting are u getting any horizontal POI shifting ?

If not, I would worry about the side hexs the main one that hold the barrel are the two on the bottom.

On my Condor and Talon I had I tighten the two bottom hexs first with blue Loctite added to the treads.
The two side hexs weren’t even tightened, just blue Loctited in to hold it from loosening/falling out.

late reply here…you probably have it taken care of by now, but…

if it a barrel bushing you have to use the same length set screw.

you can go the next size up with no problems.

you may have to ream the hole in the body to accommodate the new screw, though.
