Shroud clipping fix

As you all know my Condor is a bench queen, a normal weekend I’ll put 500-750 pellets down the tube, after about 4 tins my grouping would go to hell (1/2″) at 30 yards. The first time this happen I stripped the gun and totally clean everything. You would be surprised if all the lead film. Anyways my accuracy would come back (one hole at 30 yards). Then like clockwork it would go away after 2 tins of lead. Been pulling my hair out trying to figure this out too the point to I was about to drop the gun off to Tony.. The Condor has a Smooth Twist barrel so I really don’t get much lead in the barrel, but a lot blowing back into the frame and out the port holes. Last weekend I was about to strip her down again and I noticed the shroud wasn’t flushed to the frame, so I loosen, snugged it back up and tighten the Allen screw down. Accuracy back spot on! The shroud was chanting down after so many shots and causing a slight clip event. After a couple of hours of shooting it was working back out, I repeated the tightening and the then the hole stripped out in the frame!! :(, so I ordered a assortment of SS Allen screws, brought my tap set home from work and went to town. I drilled a 2nd hole on the top rail for the shroud and went up a size on the screws. Then I did the 4 barrel bushing screws with bigger and longer screws, they stick out a little but that’s ok, I know the whole thickness of the frame is being used now, the factory screws inset into the frame. Going to the range tomorrow, so I’ll see if she stay together for a day, I think she’ll be fine now. Hope this helps someone. I shot this gun more than the normal person so some of ya may never see it, but just in case!
