Basic rule # 1 , 99% of the time when you try to short cut from a known given procedure ( set-up ) that has proven to work , in the long run you
generally just end fucked up and costing you more out of your pocket to correct it .

FROM : THE BIRDMAN

i used to shoot .177 with .22/5 valve. i put metal washer and rubber washer to restrict the travel of the tophat. i assume it should be okay to shoot .22 with .177 valve. you might have to play with bigger opening. the .177 valve is running too hot anyway for .177

compromise does only lead to you spending more at the end. I would get the proper setup. It will always pay off.

Just wanting to put a talon tank adapter on the condor but would lie to keep the 3 calibers without having to buy 2 tank adapters. Tony at talon tunes said he thought with his tophat that has the inserts I might be able to shoot .177 with the .22 valve if I use the inserts I might tank dump since it would be more restricted. Just seeing I could get some more info from people that have tried this.

It will probably work but with lower velocities as the .117 is likely to be a little more constricted.

Why do you ask?
