Q:

Shooting with or without a rest? That is the question!

Hello all! I just wanted to share my rather unconventional way of shooting precision through a write-up I managed to complete last night. The contents take into account my experience as an airgun shooter for many years. Take it however you wish. My intent is just to share a method that has proven to work well for me when I put myself to the test when I’m shooting. Also, it’s for the purpose of contributing to this forum.

Although it isn’t mentioned in the article, the 9-shot group at 27 yards pictured in the third page was achieved by a sitting position (using my .22 Cricket) and without the use of a bench-rest kit. My back and knees were being supported and kept steady by a wall. The forestock of my gun was resting on my non-shooting hand which was in turn resting on my knee.

You’re welcome.

I was just practicing shooting some little stuff yesterday and today in the sitting position and decided to record them. I choose to practice without benchrests just for the purpose of continuing to hone my skills. That’s all. All targets were set at 26 yards from my shooting area. Sorry for the lousy quality as I recorded the videos with my iPhone.

The last page/picture has been fixed and is now showing.

The last picture is not working for me, I have already read it but just in case it does not work for other people can you try and fix it?

Very well written!
I will have to give that a try tonight with the Discovery and the Brocock Concept this week and see if it applies.

Thanks for making the time to write that up and share with us!
