Tried new stuff . No it wasn’t alcohol ..
I’ve had these Bore Tech products at hand for a while and i’ve used them for my powderburners with great success. Today i tried the BT Rimfire Blend – which is designed to remove the carbon and, mostly , lead from rimfire barrels. Did my usual Ballistol routine and once those Patches came out clear i changed to the BT RF. That stuff is great ! Like Ballistol it can be left into the barrel forever and doesn’t need to be flushed out. And it removes the lead that the Ballistol , my previous favourite , didn’t bite. It wasn’t much but it was existent enough.
It has no odor so those sissies who need to ask a permission from the Wifey before they use the Kitchen counter for gun cleaning : Rejoyce !

Nothing says good gun lube like a picture of a pig squealing…..
All jokes aside bore tech makes dam good stuff.
To clean out the tuff lead fowling/de-leading I use Otis bore clean every 2-6k shots.
It seem to me that one needs to de-lead now and then to recheck if the barrel has changed for the better with a new leading in also.
If I notice any POI shift or for every 500 shots in-between that, I use Ballistol along with the PatchWorm cleaning system.

Test ! Pour Little BT on a small recptacle and put an old o-ring in it for couple of hours. I don´t Think the Rimfire Blend will harm the rubber/viton/nitrile.
I do a proper “de-leading” when the accuracy starts to suffer, normally at around 1500 shots. Otherwise it´s just PatchWorm between sessions to remove the excess goo.
Ville, no one would think of alcohol being new stuff for you.
I’m wondering, do you really want to remove all that lead? Isn’t lead the reason why new barrels require few hundred rounds to bed in, to fill up that tiny roughness left by the tooling so the barrel becomes smooth. Just remove the excess after that.
Bore Tech and Shooters Choice are my faves in my powder burners by a long shot. How is the BT on o-rings?

It seems so. My new favourite. Too bad i need to order that stuff from US since there´s no importer in Sweden. Oh well , they were very helpful and nice at BT and send the stuff fast.
