Q:

W.A.R. valve insallation, so easy a bind man can do t?

I bought a couple Synrods a few months ago. A .177 and a 25. I had many a sleepless night knowing I had not screwed with the power plants yet.

I had a change in my vision that has given me 20/100 in about 10% of my left eye at 10 o’clock. The right eye that made the 615 yard shot was removed last October after going hemotopic. This means while writing this to see the right key , I look directly at it I can see that key but no others, I can’t see a approaching car at 100′, however I can see through a scope and shoot at 35 feet left handed.

Evidently I can still disassemble and reassemble an airgun, last week I tore down the 25, drilled out the barrel port and TP, opened up the gauge block and put it all back together with a new w.A.R. valve running wide open with 43 EJ’s.

I use a laser and a light for sights on the 25, the .177 has that superb glass known as the CP 4×16, better known as a POS, but with what vision I have left, if I replaced it with a Schmidt Bender I couldn’t tell the difference.

As a result a scope and long range airgun snob these days is eating crow rather than shooting them and finding airguns are still fun.

Nice reading , I thought my Marauder was going to be my learning gun.
You know take it apart and learn the basic PCP rules,
Hell I got pissed and sold it , Just gave it away really,
It would shoot all day long with dime size 50 yard groups, It did use a lot of air,
Mike

Glad to read your words RC, been missing your posts of your Jack Haley cannon.

You’re the reason I built this .357

I am in the process of hot rodding a .25 Mrod using a new Cothran Powervalve, hope to tune this week.
Starting as a .25 using stock barrel, a .257 slug barrel is soon to follow.
Too early to state any hard numbers, but I know this valve can move some heavy lead, gonna get real interesting soon. I will post some once I get results!
Hope all is well with you and yours, tale care.

Thanks guys.

I always check the forums ‘titles to see what you guys are up to, I have trouble reading words with more than four letters, so I get the test wrong a lot, but still its air guns and keeps me occupied.

BTW anyone tried the regged Mrod bottle set up that JDS sells? It uses a 4500 bottle with a 3000 PSI reg. I would like to try one, but it does not seem that he has the cut down tubes out yet, and being a bubba gunsmith at the best of my years, I don’t want to take after my tube with a hacksaw.

RC, It’s So very good to see your name on a post again. An Indomitable spirit like yours will most always find a way! Always in my prayers, God Bless you and your family

DAMN GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU! THANKS FOR CHECKING IN!
I AM GOING TO HAVE TO LOOK INTO ONE OF THOSE WAR VALVES.
I BOUGHT A MROD FROM PETER AT TOP GUN AIR,
OVER ON THE YELLOW FORUM.
IT HAS ONE OF HIS CUSTOM THUMBHOLE STOCKS .
VERY ACCURATE!
THE TRIGGER IS LIKE BUTTER.
BOUGHT IT BEFORE I STARTED ON THE .257 CONDOR.
DIDNT TAKE DELIVERY UNTIL AFTER THE .257 CONDOR.
MROD JUST SEEMS A BIT UNDERPOWERED AND UNIMPRESSIVE.

WE GOT AN OLD BENCHREST POWDER BURNER PRECISION SHOOTER GUY ON THE FORUM HERE NOW….
CONVERTED OVER TO AIR POWER AFTER SEEING THE PEPSI CHALLENGE.
HE HAS BEEN RINGING SILLOUETTES OUT TO 1000 YRD WITH A CONDOR 257!

SHOOTING SOUTHPAW ISNT SO BAD, I HAVE BEEN DOING IT MY WHOLE LIFE!

I AGREE, LETS GET YOU A SIX MILLION DOLLAR BIONIC EYE!!! SOMEONE OUT HERE MIGHT KNOW HOW TO GET AHOLD OF OSCAR GOLDMAN.

Hi Charlie ! dang it … we need to get you a bionic eye ! like the 6 million dollar man ! had …… all kidding aside … I am very sorry you lost your eye…. you sir have taught me quite a bit about all this gun stuff … and really helped me out on the bullet casting/molds … as I am sure a bunch of others were able to learn from your knowledge and the post you put on my 45 ranger thread …. I still have my ranger … but I shoot the 25’s the most these days Mrod / hatsan at44w long …. my Mrod is tuned with 10lbs spring and the orings on the valve 3300 starting pressure … it’s and old tune but the gun is dead on shooting a ragged hole at 50 for almost 2 clips …so I don’t mess with it …. I don’t know what happened to Dan Mcvey I have tried to get ahold of him … but have had no luck … I hope he is ok …glad to see you on here and still shooting … I know how much you love the shooting sports !

I am sure glad it is so easy to work on the Marauders , I got a Gen II 25 in a rapid B/P stock that the trigger is driving me to drink,
anyway as soon as I get the fuc*(&*&*^%# trigger figured out , I will be blowing, oops I mean spending some money and time with the War guys,
Mike

Glad your back here at TAG :4: Charlie
