can someone suggest a decent pistol scope/sight?
I’m looking to outfit MrodAir’s Airmax Precision PCP (nice hype-title) pistol (.22) with either a pistol scope or a dot sight, maybe a holographic sight. My intended maximum useful range is 25 yards for plinking, and small-pest control (Sparrows, Starlings, chipmunks). I want to practice head shots at varying ranges up to 25 yards. I can use a little advice and selection opinions. Not looking for top shelf. I’d like to use a shooting card so I can work out hold-over, so maybe a nice little mil-dot pistol scope? I don’t know. Lots to choose from, but a wise decision will save me a lot of grief.

I have a NC pistol scope, I think it is a 4X. It won’t be back home to the office until 16 Feb. I can let you know what it is and if it’ll focus at 10 yards. If it does and you want it I’ll send it to you for the shipping. Ran it on a .22 mag and .357 rem max, held up fine and did its job. Just not expensive.
good grief! I do a lot of testing inside and so require a pistol scope with an adjustable objective. It’s so damned cold here I won’t be out for months yet. Now if I can just find a decent indoor type scope. Not looking for HD glass, just be able to focus to less than 10 yards if there’s any such thing. Gun arrives tomorrow. MrodAir got thee out in a hurry; they only arrived this past weekend. (I hope someone checked them out! :suprisedn: )

Z, those are very good perspectives. My ophthalmologist has warned me against looking into bright lights, let alone the Sun, what with the prescription I have! :rofl: I have a Crosman 1701P in the carbine stock, and I’ve put an inexpensive Winchester (Daisy) 2-7×32 scope on it. Duplex reticle. It’s a surprisingly clear little scope at all magnifications and focuses down to about 15 feet. Inexpensive too. I think I agree with you that I need some magnification. I guess that rules a dot sight. Can’t say, in light of the Winchester that I want to drop a lot of change on a pistol scope. I’ve been reading lots of reviews over on Amazon, but so far nothing strikes me as a standout. I guess I need to did a bit deeper.

Sounds like it should be fun. I suppose the two important question are how much are you looking to spend as price varies massively. The next question is how good are your eyes. 25 yards may not be far but if your looking at hitting very small targets most would opt for some magnification unless your eyes are spot on.
