why no more compact 177?
All great things come to an end. If you’re lucky, you can get one second hand. Otherwise check to see who can import you one on their next shipment.

Good afternoon my friends, sorry to change the subject and my english (google translator) but you guys can 100 shots with compact 4.5 mm cricket averages 19 fpe of power …..
Hey Elmer,
This is the OEM or it’s very close to being.
This is the weaker shorter one I’m using in both of my crickets, make for a slightly quieter hammer slap too.
You can get them longer and cut/tune them down (close and ground the ends) to the length you’d like, scroll down.

Do you happen to have a link to the item you purchased?
becuase someone said it makes 42 shots on a fill.
im from europe.
I rebuilt it and changed out all the factory O-rings after 2 years of use/no leaks, but left the reg at the same factory settings.
Note that KG has different porting on their guns ………. and yours may differ some what.
Meaning, because of which it could come with a different regulator setting from mines as a result.
But a 42 shot count on a 177 cal ?
I don’t think so, maybe a 25 or 30 cal compact ?

I used the 2″ long one in my 177 Cricket Compact and got the results below.

I´m using the same 2″ stainless hammer spring from Greg in my cricket .22 with better results that oem one!!! Very good spring!! 😉
u won’t regret it Sir, it’s a laser gun !! :4:
Hey, where u at Tsakula ?
I’m in Honolulu, Hawaii …………

With JSB 10.34g @ 920ish with no wind it can group 1/4″ ctc @ 50 yards.
I don’t like to shoot her beyond 75 yards (groups opens up a bit) or so because my 22 can takes over from there on.
With the 177 compact shooting 10.34g at 890fps and my 22 std shooting JSB 18g @ 880fps they both share the same trajectory.
So it’s easy to go from one to the other, same holdover ! :biggrinn:

Thanks ………… very cool spinj !
The 177 is already quit quiet out of box, however it’s starts to get louder after around 17+ fpe.
My Cricket 22 std is set to 880-890 fps with JSB 18g most of the time I just leave it there, it’s my go to the farm gun.
However the farm animals prefer it quiet and often scare easily !
So I designed an Off Set Moderator/LDC for it (sorry not for sale) adds only an inch to the OAL, it’s very quite at 31 fpe, when fired it sounds like the AT is empty and the pellet got stuck inside of the barrel ……
The pellet leaving the muzzle has a unique sound signature a swashy swirl sound, unlike any other Off Sets I’ve made so far.
Here it is ready and waiting in the back ground for a barrel cleaning while I worked on my Mutant Shorty …..

Sweet Cricket Greg! I turned the power down just a bit more on my .22 Cricket to shoot 14.35-grain pellets at 525 FPS (8.8 FPE), and I am getting 430
shots with an extreme spread of 11 FPS! :suprisedn: This is with a pressure range from 210 to 50 BAR. All I did was turn my hammer spring adjuster back one revolution (Please be advised that my regulator, valve spring, and hammer spring had also been tuned.). I needed even more shots than the 320 that I was getting from my previous adjustment for my backyard shooting sessions. With the low power and Donny’s shroud and LDC combo, all I hear is a “tink” sound. My neighbor probably thinks I’m playing with one of those Walmart-sold plastic see-through toy guns that propel plastic BBs with a short spring. Wait, aren’t those louder? :biggrinn:
Here’s a neat trick, guys: If you have a vented shroud/LDC, you can make the report even quieter by covering the vent holes with fabric. You’re not defeating the purpose of the vents, just muffling the sound coming out of them. I covered the vent holes on my Donny shroud and LDC combo and it really makes an already quiet gun even quieter.
Tsakula I do !!
I have a Cricket Compact 177 cal, the shot count at 20 fpe is about 70 shots, 11.4 fpe about 150+ shots !
The Compact 177 is a very versatile gun IMO, I need to be able to dial down for indoor pesting to minimize pass-through damages.
I pick up some hammer springs from Amazon in lengths of 1.75″, 2″ and 2.25″ long, for cheap !
I used the 2″ long one in my 177 Cricket Compact and got the results below.
My reg set to 140 bar, valve spring retainer set to 1 turn after contact.
With JSB 8.44g.
With the Imppu HST at 0 turn it’s doing 650 fps (7.92 foot-pounds)
At 2 turns it’s doing 780 fps (11.4 foot-pounds)
At 5 turns it’s doing 950 fps (16.92 foot-pounds)
With JSB 10.34g.
With the Imppu HST at 0 turns it’s doing 605 fps (8.41 foot-pounds)
At 2 turns it’s doing 725 fps (12.07 foot-pounds)
At 5 turns it’s doing 890 fps (18.19 foot-pounds)
At 7 turn it’s doing 930 fps (19.86 foot-pounds)
It’s pretty cool I think that I got all this variability with just one spring, from about 8-20 fpe !!!
I think if I removed one more coil I could get it down to 6 fpe ?

hum yah, both 177 and 22 compacts are slow seller not to many know how great they really are.
I asked TAG Tony before if he was going to bring in the 177 cals and he replayed they take to long to sell.
As a second option I’ve seen secondhand ones for sale on old yeller forum also ……..

I have the latest price lists from Kalibrgun and the .177 compact is still available from them but some of the USA importers might have little demand for them so may have opted not to import them. Express your interest to your importer and get one in the next shipment.
I see topgun still have the compact listed which I assume is the .177 as the .22 compact was discontinued quite a while ago.
In the USA ?
Not sure where for the 177 cals but TGAG may still have a couple Compacts in 22 cal only ?

.177 still available, only the .22 compact was discontinued.
