Q:

What scope dresses the Cricket Compact?

Is there any scope with at least 20x maximum magnification that would sit nicely on a cricket compact? I know about the fixed power SWFA but those are not available outside of the US. The delta 6-24×42 is lightweight but I feel it is lacking at the higher magnification and only has a standard mildot true at 10x

My ideal scope would be around 5-20 or even 10-20 with 10y parallax and SFP calibrated at 20x. Is there such a thing?

If the mtc connect was a bit higher magnification it would be a nice scope but after sending an email they seem to have no plans on making it higher magnification than 3-12

quote ElmerFudd:

I’ve had it for a week now and have fiddled with it. I didn’t weigh it or anything but it’s definitely not heavy IMO. I have rings and anti-cant installed already and don’t want to take them off to weigh it. I’ve owned a few Hawke scopes years ago and have progressed to better scopes. I can’t do a side by side comparison but can assure you this Midas BTR is head and shoulders above the Sidewinder. Yeah, this Midas cost more than a Sidewinder but you’re easily doubling the optics quality if you want to quantify it. I’d like to do a side by side comparison to my Bushnell LRHS once I get a rig setup but quickly glancing between the scopes, the glass is very similar in quality. I’ll give the nod to the LRHS simply because it has better turrets and ever so slightly smoother feeling parallax and magnification knobs. The eyebox is better on the Midas for me and I do like the reticle on the Midas plus it’s illuminated. Turrets are pretty good if you didn’t have anything better for comparison. The LRHS however is almost double the cost but I don’t feel it’s double the scope in terms of overall value. I like the fact that both are fairly compact at 13.4″ and 13.8″ and low to mid 20 oz range.

Could you put the whole gun on a scale and put it in this thread? http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=34279

I wonder how it compares to the Delta optical 4,5-30×50 “made in japan”

My Delta 6-24×42 has great turrets and Hawke Sidewinder has terrible turrets (owned 2) the 4,5-30×50 is on my list, even the super Delta 3-24 with 34mm tube is on there together with a rapid-70 stock that removes 700g from the OEM synthetic stock.

Feels a bit dumb to put a 1kg scope in a compact but we will see.

Hey Elmer, that weight sounds too good to be true, do me a favour and put it on a scale when you recieve it, I would like to know the actual weight. One of my sidewinders was advertised for like 880g or something but in real life it was 990g…

This is the scope that will be going on my Compact.

Athlon Midas BTR 4.5-27×50. SFP scope @13.8″ and 21.4 oz. 30 yard parallax but at 4.5x you can get it to parallax at ~15 yards. Not sure if it’s available where you’re located but it is “made in China”. They have other models that are FFP/SFP and some parallax as close as 10 yds. Check out their 2016 catalog.

Nah man, too heavy for what you get and not a big fan of china scopes

Hawke SW Tac 6.5-20X?
