My Shorty After a brief Tune UP!!
So with the crappy weather we were getting I decided to take me shorty apart…. and do a little Winter time maintenance. change out the orings and give it some fresh lube, and polish a few things up.
I ran 2 strings then this one and have settled on this tune with the JSB 18.1’s ..

822 average
1.26 standard deviation
high of 824
low of 820
4 FPS spread over 32 shots looks like she’s dialed right in. :8: :8:

she’s def louder than shooting it at 800 fps…
I did some shooting this weekend…. just plinking. Mine really likes the 15.9’s i think the Listone barrels is a really good match for these shortys….
im gonna adjust the speed a touch down. but right now its slinging the 15.9s at 860.
I tried to shoot my edgun this weekend too…. but it got old quick and i picked up my shorty and finished the event LOL Between the Trigger and the shitty stock asthetics its just a killer …. I think the the eddie will have to go.
James what’s the noise level like at the new setting?
i can turn it up to 834 with the HST that is where its maxed with my current regulator setting. 145 bar.
but at 834 i was only getting 28 shots. I found this setting to be the tightest. …
It shoots the 15.9s at 860 something..

I’d like to see that myself, though Keyer’s video review of the Short with (I’m assuming here) the same sourced barrel shows the Short’s potential. If anything, I want to see Shorts with CZ barrels match that accuracy performance. Then I’ll finally feel relaxed about the purchase.

That looks great with 18s, I bet the 16s are going 860s with that tune ? The 18s are flying hammers. Let see some groups now at 35-50yds with the 18s & 16s.
Au contraire mon ami! When I tune non-regulated PCPs I always felt good with an Sd below 3 for each 10-shot string, and it didn’t happen often. So with Short’s small air reservoir I’d say 32 shots is quite a feat, and that low Sd I could not even hope for. You’ve done it, so take a bow and enjoy being admired by tuners everywhere. 😎

SP records are meant to be broken. Let’s see how long your low-Sd record lasts. Ought to drive some to challenge that number with the Short.
I know 32 shots doesn’t seem like a lot at 822 fps….. but when you factor in I’m shooting 18.1’s . the gun has around 160cc air tube. and a 10″ barrel…..
Id say that this is pretty good.
Dman, that’s a great result, and probably the best Sd I’ve ever seen. I hope someone ( :whistle: ) puts together an instructional video on how it’s done, with tips on polishing this and that.

I think they are perfect, 4 the shorty’s too. They shoot nice & flat out of the short barrel of the Taipan.
