Q:

Cricket shot count 22 vs 25

I recently sold my Cricket 25 bullpup. It shot 48 shots from 200 bar to 110 , thats when it fell off regulator… I bought a 22 carbine ,Ernest tuned , and it’s getting 45 shots from same fill…
I just checking to see if it’s normal for a 22 to get same number of shots as a 25?
Both are pretty much dead on for best velocity’s . I was just assuming the 22 would get more shots . It’s my first 22 Cricket so I’m not sure what shot count to expect ..Any input would be great ..shot counts not a deal breaker …Just checking with you guys

hey ,
the cricket 25 bullpub has a larger airtube than the .22 caribine.
that is why you almost have the same shot count

I got four bird feeders out, All in sight of my back window,
Each month I buy a 50lb bag of Chicken scratch, 13.00 dollars , Tractor Supply has also had there 50 lb wild bird feed on sale for 17,00 dollars
So for about a dollar a day I been feeding the good birds (song birds) and shooting the sparrows,
The sparrow population did drop off a lot, Seems to be a surge coming in from somewhere the past few weeks?

I have never really counted the shots in my 22 and 25 both Ernest tuned , both seem about the same , I only fill my guys to about 200 bar and do not like to put them up until I have shot down to 120 bar or a little more…
I did make the mistake and fill the Cricket 22 to 300 bar once , I thought I was going to run out of pellets before I shot it down to 120 bar,,, I should have counted but that’s when I was shooting 45 to 50 sparrows a day, I know I passed that number by a LOT.

Mike, after seeing your many posts on here about sparrows dying, I’m surprised there are any sparrows left in West Texas! I have a set up where I can leave my office door open at home and keep them knocked off my Martin boxes… I shoot 1 or 2 and they won’t even land in the trees within sight of my back yard! How the heck do you keep em comin’ in?! Dang starlings won’t hardly fly over my 50 acres, they’re so skeer’d! :confusedn: ❓

I have a 22 and a 25 in the bullpup and my 22 gets quite a few more shots per fill. Maybe it’s because your 22 is a carbine. I don’t know anything about them, but assume they have longer barrels… This would allow them to use more air per shot to produce the ideal ballistics as opposed to a shorter barrel… I’m by no means an expert on these things, but all things being equal, it should take less energy to produce a shot with a 22 than a 25… assuming a relative difference in pellet weights. for instance, I shoot 25.4 gr pellets in the 25 and 18 gr in the 22. My 25 shoots 920 fps and the 22 shoots 880 fps… both have similar balstic curves out to 50 yards or so. Guess you’d just have to run the numbers on what your gun is producing to see if it is efficient or not…
