.30 Condor Owners!!
How do you guys like your guns? Do you have the CF tank on your rig? What velocities are you getting? Accuracy? I’ve been waiting on my .30 conversion, and need a fix!

I am going to get a modified Maddog stock for my .30. One of his benchrest stocks, but with out the buttstock portion- a hunter type stock (just the grip forward), in the benchrest style. I would be shooting the .30 mostly from my tripod and shooting saddle. As far as the stock, I’m going to modify a china clone FX stock cover, a factory buttplate ring w/WOKButt, and a TT tank adapter w/a CF tank. I’m hoping it’ll be a comfy rifle.
That’s a bummer, nothing to shoot. This forum must be like a man one a 1 week fast looking at videos of an all you can eat meat buffet. Now I wishing for you to get your rifle in a hurry, as yo are. I just heard from Doug and mine is comimg along good he’s still putting the finishing touches on it. Maybe in a couple of months.
I hear you about Doug’s .257’s! I am on the waiting list for one of those as well! He can take as long as he wants on that rifle!! Because I know it’ll be the best it can be- like Tony’s .30. I’m just really looking forward to get into some medium and long range shooting with the .30. I have more than a few guns in the process of being built, but no complete rifles to shoot.
Cab, I’m glad your .30 is coming soon, congrads. I’m waiting for a .257 from Doug and sort of know how you feel, except I’ve been able to get over any anxiousness by imagining things like: today he’s looking at the gun and decided “Hey I’ll just put this new mod I just figured out on his gun” or “While I have just a little more time I’ll just polish this part a little more”. I always imagine him doing small things that really can be seen by the eye or understood by the layman but make the differences that give your gun just a little bit of an edge. That way when you get the gun you’re not looking for any visible signs of those little extras that he put into it and you’ll just enjoy “How much more of an edge you’ll have because 😉 he did”. Also I imagine that each day he thinks and works sooooo hard about making my rifle the best ever, that each following day he needs a rest so that he doesn’t get burned out (that helps stretch the time out quite a bit).
I know it sounds like a lot and kinda over done/dramatic, but believe me the day my wife gave me the OK to buy a Doug Noble Custom Condor .257 and I confirmed he had one I could buy, I literally couldn’t sleep the first 3 nights following. If you don’t believe me check my profile and follow my post starting Jan. 21st or so and pay attention to the times of my post and you’ll see very little time for sleep. The method above was the only thing that kept my sanity from lack of sleep and it works. I now don’t mind how long it takes and in fact every other day I smile at what might have just happened to my rifle. Sure, it takes a bit of imagination, but I have that. If you have a little try it and you never know, with the extra time for him to be relaxed about his process, some of those days you just might be right in what you imagine. Either way, in the long run you may be able to enjoy the journey it took for your rifle to reach you just a little more.

Don’t I know it!! I’ve been waiting a while! Not as long as my Dawson .30 build- that’s been going on since ’13!! It’s nowhere near done!!
I think it’s getting close to delivery. I’ll know here in a few short weeks. If my luck holds, I’ll be shooting this thing by May!! That leaves me a whole summer of shooting- getting to know the .30 Condor!
Sorry for the slow reply work is a hassle and the kids are in school. Running a old Lepers 8-32. Are you getting close to delivery? Was going to post some groups but the wind has been blowing and we had rain today. Hang in there having a gun built turn us all into 5 year olds the day befor Christmas :biggrinn:
Oh man, I just received an email from Tony, I should be getting my .30 soon!! :8: I can’t wait! Once I get it, I’m going to start on that stock! I’m really hoping the single screw will be enough. I won’t know if I can use a second screw until I get it in my hands. I’m crossing fingers I’ll be able to make something work. Oh man, I’m excited!!
Oh, Nebraska, what scope are you using on your rifle?
Can’t wait to see her. You won’t have any trouble getting more fps but my barrel is spot on at 80 fpe. Well worth the wait 😀

Here’s to hoping! It’s been very windy and cold lately, so I haven’t sighted her in yet. Next week looks better. I don’t mind the cold so much, but the wind is killing me. It’s a good thing this scope can be used during day and night! I feel like I’ll be shooting this a lot!
