Q:

IMPACT GEN II ?

I have been reading that FX has been very diligent in listening to customers and correcting some issues, ie. AT ports on .30 cal barrels (Ernest) and such. I was wondering if they plan to release a gen II version anytime soon. I’d like to see that short fill port issue addressed as well.

These fit the Impact?

Actually received a reply from FX and they will have some ready this week.

quote RONIN001:

I think what you are seeing is the fill port ‘magnetic cap’

Where can we get these caps?

I think what you are seeing is the fill port ‘magnetic cap’

I checked some fx impact photos and noticed there appears to be a possible fill nipple protruding from the fill port well. There have been complants as you all know about the difficulty in accessing the recessed fill port. Wonder if changes have already been made? Here is a link to the https://www.google.com/search?q=fx+impact&rlz=1CDGOYI_enUS680US680&oq=fx+impact+&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i59l2j0.14267j0j8&hl=en-US&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#imgrc=bKejShaHO7vj0M%3A

Hell if Gen II comes out before a year then they just need to have everyone send back their rifles for an exchange. LOL

I asked AOA about some of the issues that Ernest has stated and discussed with FX and to my knowledge FX is fixing those issues but, AOA did not seem to know what I was talking about. Other than if an issue comes up for me to send it in. :confusedn: One would assume they ‘AOA” should know all of this possible issues….

Not sure why FX even sent out the Impact with the fill port as they did if I recall did not the Bobcat have the same issue? How hard would it be for FX just place an extension or an extended male fill port.

I was pretty excited when I first saw the concept of the FX Impact. The excitement died quickly after learning of the upfront cost and extra barrel prices. The idea of having an exchangeable barrel is good but I think FX shot themselves in the foot with the concept. Sell the damn gun at $1,500 a pop without the exchangeable barrels. Knowing that most airgunners are whores/hoarders, we’d buy multiple guns in multiple calibers. Just take a look at Cricket and Edgun owners. Some have owned 2, 3 or more different calibers of the same gun. Those who love them have multiple calibers. That equates to cha-ching for the manufacturers. Of course, if you’re charging $400-500 just for a caliber change like FX, you’re making out like a bandit already so I guess their business model is working out great. If someone started turning out quality replacement barrels (LW/CZ) with a threaded end for a moderator and probes for the impact in the $200-300 range, they’d make a killing.

I’m also not sure why they are so against the fill probe idea for the impact. It would seem like a no-brainer.

Something I would like fixed is the soft metal on the end of the barrel, the attach/detatch part. I see that as a massive flaw from extensive use. Tighten the barrel down enough times and you can figure out what happens. If that gets fixed so I do not have to worry about removing the barrel for break down transport then I can see myself buying one.

I’m seeing where these are slow to arrive and the waiting list is long….so I guess kind of a dumb question to ask about Gen. 2 when people are not even getting many in from the initial launch. But, I’ve heard that FX has made some immediate fixes since the first few were released to reviewers and that’s a positive thing.

This is looking more and more like my next gun. Got the big 60 birthday coming up so I want to buy myself “something pretty!” Just wanting to make sure some of the bugs are worked out first.

Although I have never shot or even held a FX airgun, I can say that the exterior design of the Impact is by far my favorite of any airgun on the market right now. I especially like the CF bottle.
I absolutely agree with some people that it is best to buy one caliber only.

The one that does not extend

whats the euro shroud?

I would like a mk2 in .25 with the euro shroud
