Q:

Vulcan but plate

Has anyone tried to make the but plate larger by either screwing a aluminum plate from midway or making one from either wood or aluminum it it tad small barily gets into the shoulder seems if it went down another 1″ at least might be better to shoulder more consistently anyone tried fixing the tiny butplate ?

before fine 1200grit lapping paper and oiling.
job done!

this mod allows me to use low scope mounts. used superglue to bond rubber to wood. remark: the laquer has been removed a year ago.

made few of rubber butt pads, when I figure out how to glue rubber to wood, will fit one of these

currently I have got this on, it is black milliput epoxy putty. will see if it will last

edit later: yes, is is rock solid, light, and bone hard well, works fine.

I am also thinking about doing something in this direction. Got a bit of solid rubber block, would like to add this wedge to the butt end but on the top.
any idea how to bond rubber to wood? I did try vulcanizing compound but it comes off the wood.

What is the weight of the new wood stock and the new synthetic version? Stock only. I’d like the adjustable butt plate and I like the synthetic but don’t want more weight than I have now.

Lol of course there is a new stock I went to great lengths to to alter this one hahah it’s all good I will gladly buy a new one in synthetic wit the ajustable but plate it does look nice

The walnut is screwd to the walnut I got it free after goin to places and them wanting 50 buck for a small piece of hard wood I cut up a shovel handle I knew it’s hard wood it may be poplar? What ever they make baseball bats out of
Sanded it all down and painted back with bed liner now I need to finish mount the butt plate
