Q:

New name for the class of the gun.

I think nobody will doubt that Leshiy is a new class of PCP guns? Like in the beginning all PCP bullpus called EDgun πŸ™‚ I think it would be interested to hear your oppinions about the name for that new class. My offer is “foldED” πŸ™‚

Is there an oring on the valve? (because apparently there is no oring on the barrel where contacting the valve)

Honestly while I like the look of the little bugger, it looks somehow akward to me seeing it in action, that folding movment to c*ck the gun isn’t the nicest thing to see. Probably to this I would have preferred a BSA front style cocking and/or a traditional pellet breech loading …. the stock/cylinder could have made foldable anyway.

Another consideration is that the BSA Ultra Single Shot is around 500 USD for example.

A survival tool normally you buy it and you just “forget about it” till you need it but it will be difficult to forget a 1100+ USD tool πŸ˜€ .

As usually my two cents comment without wanting to sound negative…. (and me I’m not an undercover BSA sales representative πŸ˜€ )

New Leshiy videos. Ed changes barrels on this one…

Ed can u please respond to my PM

Keyser is right and maybe since you are becoming big and “famous” πŸ˜€ probably it is a good moment to review your worldwide international organization and not only the US.

If you are going big then handle these things like a big company, with a study and a project, handle it like a businessman having probably also partners.

Think if you want to have importers and distributors that are completely independent or if they should carry your brand’s name (some sort of franchising).

Let investors and businessmen do the business and not technical people or airgun enthusiats because they don’t know anything about business and finance. Sales and Technical people are paramount but they run only in second line.

Actually in the US probably you need to set up a whole network given the extension of the territory.

Choose the business partner that is already well known and consolidated on the market, the one that has the best organisation, the best network (as said US is very big), best logistics, best support and aftersales services.

The one that wants to invest the most and pay the most to become your importer and distributor, the one that gives you the best business guarantees.

If the times of the “Mountain man running a one man shop” are gone then act like a businesman now.

Ed,

you are the owner and you do what you think is best, as you know I don’t have any interest nor part in this.

As far as “easily regulated by the price policy” concerns, that works when there is no competition if you see what I mean.

Every customer is different so there is no general rule but in my case, should you tell me that the price of the Leshiy will be the same or close to the price of a Matador then before taking one single Leshiy I would have already taken all the Matadors available in all different shapes and calibers, actually I would take exactly two of each and on the second one I would do all sorts of tuning and customizations before spending my money on a Leshiy but this is just me.

Brother Hemn,

I have to admit that when I heard Ed saying he will continue to produce and sell the old guns then I thought Ed is missing something.

If Ed is coming back from the IWA with orders for the new and old guns perfectly balanced then everything is OK and he is right but if he is coming back with only few orders for the old guns (for the nostalgic ones) and very few pre-orders (if any) for the new guns then something is wrong.

Personally I wouldn’t buy an old Lelya today having already seen the new one coming in multishot and front lever configuration.

The new guns and the old guns are different, they are for different purpose and for different users, so there is no confilct of the guns. Besides the demand for “old” guns and “new” guns is easily regualted by the price policy. Just and example, in Russian I couldn’t get sertificate for .25 for long time, so when I got it and people understood they can buy it leggally there was splash of demand for .25 since it was the same price as .22. It was about 70-75 % demand for .25 and 25-30 % for .22. I just raise the price for .25 for 100 euro more and the demand for .25 dropped down about 50 %. I considered it normal and stay that way since that.

As for the “new” guns. I’ve opened pre-order only for Leshiy in Russia, will do it soon for foreign countries. So, I plan to make 500 Leshiy for the first batch. After two days I started pre-order I got orders for 212 gun out of 500. So, I don’t think there will be problem to sell them and they will not interupt the selling of Matador R3M. Moreover I still dont’ know the price and I just told people that it will not be cheaper then Matador R3M in Russia for sure and it didn’t stop them. As for other “new” guns I even have no definite plans for making them, just thinking about it. Besides Lelya 2.0 will be completely redesigned (for those who claim I am not listening to user’s critics. I showed it at IWA, I got feedback and I decided to completely redesign it).

My main grievance has been customer support. As I have said before without importer support all is lost. The world is too big to expect Ed to cater to every customer with a broken gun. I like talking to Ed and learning about his gun but if a real problem arises I want to pick up the phone and call the guy who sold me the gun. If I have to deal with Ed in Russia why can’t I just buy a gun directly from him? I have Paypal, I’ll send Ed money, he can send me the gun and then I’ll know that my support will have to come from Russia which includes 3-4 week wait for parts. The upside is I paid less for the gun. Honestly what Tony R charges for shipping it wont cost much more to just get a gun shipped to me from Estonia.

Ever wonder why there are so many questions on this board asking what size Oring, fixes, or problems with their EDgun?

It is impossible to send them directly from Russia. The main problem is custom beuracracy. At my first attempt to pass trough it leggaly cost me asault my workshop with custom speznaz and more then a year of different cour hearing. That is why I moved part of my production to EU, just to avoid to work in any way with Russian authorities.

As for selling directly from Estonia, I do it for countries where I don’t have dealers, like UK for example, but the price is the same level they could buy it from dealer. I doubt that I will be able to operate directly with every custom from Russia. The other question the quality of the dealer, that is the point to think about, I agree.

quote shooter3:

I told Ed that the customer support was our main concern. He replied he was planning to create an online store with parts that could be shipped directly from Russia.

Right, I want to try to do this to cover the spare parts need, passing by the dealer, directly to the client, but there will be some problems with the custome as well, but if the part is not looks like gun part I think I will do it. In fact I do it right now, many guys in US, for example, who applied to me directly got their part and in many cased I even didn’t charge them for parts cost and delivery cost (the small parcel from Russia, with valves, for example, cost me at least 40 USD to send, but I accept it just to please my clients).

Conclusion, I know the problem, I analize it and I work on making the system better for users.

With the best regards

Ed

Pippo… My brother. … +1 … i totally agree with you. ..

Your words are golden. … Ed must take them seriously. ..

You have to sell your guns for an income and we want to enjoy our hobby and spend our money without troubles and mutual respect is the key for succeeding all of us.

Not only I want to own an Edgun but I also want to be proud of it and this should be your final goal when doing business with your customers.

That is right, that is why I want to make a new model of selling with Leshiy and then spread the experience of that model to the work of all EDgun sales. I am working on it now and hopefully will complete the building new system towards data of Leshiy sell.

What we often do here on TAG (and this you know because you are part of it) is trying to open a friendly confrontation (sometimes less friendly) on situations and experiences in order to see and hear the point of view of everybody.

And I appreciate it a lot, you can be sure. Moreover atmosphere here is much more friendly then at any Russian forums about airguns πŸ™‚ The only problem is I just have no time to follow all the topics here (in Russian forums as well) so cannot react fast to the information.

quote Pippo:

This said, what is going to happen with the current guns (Matador, Lelya) since you have announced the new ones?

Are you stopping to take orders and production of them?

I think nobody is going to buy an “old” Matador knowing that the new one is around the corner.

Nothing will happen, I will keep going on to produce the old Models, at least there will be parts for them, or, at least drawings and models of the part which can be started to produce in case of neccesety.

quote Pippo:

Probably announcing the new guns without being able to promptly deliver/sell them has been a mistake because you are not speaking about a single gun but you are speaking about your whole offer. I don’t know your finances but they must be really solid in order to be able to stop selling for around one year (you were speaking about delivering in 2017) continuing to run your developement and production meanwhile.

The announcing of the new gun was set to IWA, I just wanted to see the reaction to it since that is quite unusual device and I needed to know if I have to get in the production. Now I see that nobody is indifferent to it and it means I can start making it πŸ™‚ Meanwhile the old models are being produced and available.

quote Pippo:

Probably Leshiy was meant to handle and finance the transition (first being ready to be shipped) but you are taking a risk by betting everything on one single card that apparently is favored by the public but isn’t thouroughly tested and instead of bringing gains could bring additional costs.

Based on the test I made more then 30 changes to the design already and will go on with that work until the gun is ready, I think it is quite good from the point of view the reliability and the features.

Pre-orders could have helped to manage the financial impact but you should have proven to be able to deliver a quality product on time.

I don’t want to take deposit on it but will announce about the pre-order like did in Russia just to know what caliber of the barrels to order from LW and what quantity, as people usually take it in main caliber and want some additional barrels of different caliber.
