Q:

Talon on CO2

When I purchased my SS, Air Gun Depot was including the CO2 adapter and a tank. Everything I read said not to use it in cold weather because temperatures below 70 affects the performance. Now that it is warming up I’m planning on giving it a try in a couple of weeks. What can I expect? What are your experiences with CO2? Any feedback would be appreciated.

My talon has a 24″ barrel with a moderator on it and a 24oz co2. I lost count of shots at 1500 but still had lots left. It is a .177 crow destroyer at 40yds at 1/2 tank or so. Of course shot placement is critical. When the temp. Is 50 degrees or so I sit with the tank under my armpit with my jacket open between shots. A little different but works for me. I no longer have a place to fill air so have gone to co2 and springers. Springers seem to make it easier with the talon. Good luck.

I shoot my Talon with CO2 quite a lot. Our club does indoor silhouettes, between 9-20 yards, with a Talon it is quite the trick to set up a scope. I use a 177 barrel for this, but have fired my .25 with CO2 mostly to 20 yards and I have been happy with it. I use a 9 oz bottle, since it is a little smaller in diameter than a 12 oz.

I had really good luck with the .177 condor on co2 .
Lots and lots of shots per fill. Quiet backyard friendly and good to excellent short range accuracy up to 40 yrds.
