Q:

What did happen at WWAG

If this is old news to you guys I apologize. But I’ve seen reference on more than one forum about ” something” happening to WWAG. What are they referring to ? I get the impression something happened that impacted their business in a bad way but have zero clue what it is .

quote REARSPROCKET:

There you have it the continuing saga of “Barrelgate”

I wouldn’t be afraid to buy one for a good price, there will be a few different brands of high quality drop in barrels available very soon, and the swap out couldn’t be easier to perform.

That’s right. That is what me and Soze did got a great price got a new barrel.

I’m lucky , mine was a standard. It shoots great ….Now I think I’ll pass on a new Mutant unless it comes from one of you guy or Ernest or Donny who I trust . Lotta guns out there so I don’t need to get hung up on one particular one 🙂

Joe in a nut shell Steve Smith’s company WWAG imported the Baby Mutant from Tauman in the Ukraine. Steve advertised the gun as coming with CZ barrels. Many people bought the Baby’s because they supposedly had match grade CZ barrels in them. The guns had a huge mark up in the USA and are sold around the world as a super value gun code name for cheap price tag. Well it turns out the guns Steve Smith was importing came with pissa crap Korean barrels and many were even labeled made in Germany when supposedly they were made in Korea and some of the barrels like mine were badly damaged. Joe a $1450.00 micro bullpup should shoot sub 1/2 groups at 50 yards not 1 inch plus shotgun patterms. Steve claims he knew nothing about the barrels not being what he advertised them as however long before I sent the first Email to WWAG to stop the false advertising Ernest who I was told was WWAG gunsmith-tunner-warrantee man had already posted that the Baby did not have CZ barrels in them. I am not sure how Ernest knew this and Mr. Smith his employeer did not but it was advertised up until the day I sent WWAG that email as having CZ barrels. Basically Joe it was my gun and my emails to WWAG that started the down fall of Mr Smith. Keyser Soze had some inside information and had issues with his barrel as well and that helped push along WWAG’s demise even faster. Mr Smith could have easily still been in business today had he rebarreled the guns. However his company was sold to R&L and to my knowledge not many people if any ever got the barrel that they were promised when they bought it. I returned my gun for a full refund to Randy at R&L so I am one of the few or possibly the only one who was compensated. Keyser sold his and got all his money back. Guys like GKU who have nothing bad to say about Mr. Smith and these bad practices got stuck with their gun and their barrel. If I remember correctly he was hoping they would swap out the barrels which tells me he like the gun and rightfully so it is an awesome gun. To this day no one but a few of us has new barrels in their guns and this was only because dman sent them to us. Those of you who got screwed it is your money to spend as you want. However the more people tolerate this crap the more it will happen. Keep a close eye on the new Baby scandel from Peter at (TGAG) and the Joe Brancoto Air Thanks for Sale buy out. Is this just a Deja vu of WWAG and R&L buying it or will the barrels be replaced this time around. Don’t hold your breath. If you sit back and just wait on them to fix shit my guess nothing will happen as we have all seen before in the not so far ago past. If you buy a business you buy it’s warrantees as well. If you are a consumer and you just roll over when mislead then expect to be walked on. The above text is but my opinion from my own experience and a lot of information that was once available here on TAG that no longer avaiable here to be viewed.

Yeah that was before my time .The Cricket rifle I have now was originally Steve’s . He was VERY cool to deal with and I’d deal with him again in a second. Whatever went down in the past ……I was just curious because of all the confusion about the Mutants now if it was so.ething similar ?
I sold mine likes DummAss to my shooting Buddy , Now I’m apprehensive about buying one with the barrel thing .
I don’t make enough money to make a 1200$ fuckup

I don’t like to post things I’m not have anything good to say with someone I had a pleasure of knowing.

But I hope that Steve Smith is doing and is in good heath in his retirement from WWAG.
I still like to keep in touch with his ex-girlfriend Kat we’re good friends still and she is an awesome person in her own right !!

…… I miss them both …. . . seen here wearing/sporting my GKU Ukulele cap that I sent her, o Steve got the cookies. 😆

WWAG is now owned and run by Randy @ R&L Airguns supply.
