Q:

Regarding non-moderator mods for the quietest Talon

Hi guys, realizing sound is the result of pressure wave propagation and thus the biggest reduction is obtained from the use of a moderator, has anyone determined the best scenario/set up/servicing procedure(s) or mechanical modifications to reduce total sound that results when firing a shot. In canada we are not allowed moderator use by law so are limited to what can be done.
My initial thoughts are reduced velocity through the use of heavier pellets, lowering the PW setting to reduce excessive discharge pressure within accurate and practical limits and perhaps using silicon grease. Is there anything I might have missed? In referencing the heavier pellet use, what has the collective found to be the choice, I would like to primarily hunt with mine.
This could be helpful to others in similar situation I feel.

Thanks to all in advance for any helpful input 🙂

You could add the hammer with slap mod to it. Basically the hammer has an oring attached to the front of it that absorbs the impact between the hammer and breech quieting the mechanical noise of the gun. Like clapping then clapping with gloves on. I have noticed a huge difference between my talon with stock hammer and my condor with the talon tunes slap mod hammer. I have not tried the mod at home yet so cannot comment on how to do it. Im sure youtube will have answers on how though.

A long barrel and the lowest velocity you can tolerate will give you the lowest muzzle noise.

Or you could shoot through a loaf of bread or pillow like they do in the movies :winkn:
