.22 Cal Vulcan Single Shot Tray

I’m new to this Forum but an older Air Rifle enthusiast. I’ve been having a lot of fun in recent years with an assortment of PCP rifles and pistols. Last year I started using a 25 cal Vulcan and I am really impressed by the performance. I work as a design engineer and use Soldworks 3D modeling. I couldn’t resist getting a 3D printer when the prices started to drop and started thinking about accessories not available for the Vulcan. I started with a spare magazine and sold one to another member of this Forum and at his suggestion we worked together to produce a 25 cal single shot tray. I sell them on ebay and keep getting requests for a 22 cal version. I have made a prototype of one for a 22 cal Vulcan, but I don’t have a rifle to try it out in. The other member I was working with doesn’t have a 22 cal either. He suggested I get on this Forum and see if anyone would like to test my 22 cal prototype. I will send it along with a list of things to check and the prototype can be kept for helping me out.

I think pointing the barrel down is automatic and easy for the Vulcan Bullpup but not the Tactic.
If I was states side I would take you up on the offer, but not the case.
I too have a 3D priner, but not up and running yet…I would pay you for the STL file if your interested?

I can load a pellet directly into the barrel with bare fingers. just point the barrel down.

Well, I PM’d evensteven101 and he was kind enough to send me the prototype to test and evaluate. This was the first ever 3D printed part that I had ever knowingly seen. I was very impressed with the sturdiness of the tray. I was expecting something a little flimsy. Definitely not the case.
While the 1st version worked a lot better than loading by hand, it needed some fine tuning. We discussed some changes through emails and he came up with a second version. While better, it just wasn’t quite right. Further discussion led to the 3rd (and I believe final) version. I think he has incorporated these changes into the .25 cal version also. While one CAN hand load single pellets, this tray makes it a LOT easier. If the user has the Vulcan generation that has the ROT switch, that can be used to secure the tray into the vulcan but it isn’t really necessary to do so – unless you are a belt and suspenders sort of person :rofl: – since it snaps in place like an original mag.
The slant of the ramp is gentle enough that between that angle and the guide, it seemed impossible to mis-load and the ridge guides the pellet to keep it from diving head first into the valley.
