25 cal JSB heavies
I was out trying out my new PB at the local gun range. I took my 25 cal R3 Matador along. I had just turned the regulator and HST up to get it to shoot the JSB 33.95 grain heavies at 885 fps. I had to turn the reg up a lot.
The R3 was shooting the 25.4 grain JSBs at 885 fps with the reg set at 1700 psi-117 bar. I ended up with the reg set at 2015 psi-139 bar. My regulated shot count went from 70 shots down to 25. I think that I can do some more tuning and get some more regulated shots. Just haven’t had the time yet. Chairgun says the 100 yard BC is now 0.0509.
Anyhow, by the time I got the MV and 100 yard speeds, it was starting to get dark and the breeze was starting to pick up. I did get these 4, 5 shot groups in before I called it quits. A 5th shot flier turned a .795″ group into a 1.030″ group. On the 3rd group, the first 4 shots were touching at around .450″. I should have quit there! The 5th shot opened the group up to .577″
The JSBs were weigh sorted and run thru a .250″ sizer. So far, I really like the new heavy JSBs! 100 yard groups shooting off of a table using a Harris bipod and a padded rear rest.

Hi Tedd!
Good to hear from you.
Nice grooping!
You are still using the .25 BSA barrel?
Regards, Robert.
