Fill Probe Not Sealing
Anyone had issues when filling their Mutant, the fill probe not sealing when filling?

Endo you may be thinking edgun….. They might work but the proper Orings for the Mutant fill probe are 4.47mm x 1.78mm which is an easy find at a hardware store if you don’t have any. Its an american ORing ….. -008 (3/16 ID x 1/16 W)
Dman, you are correct, that is the edgun probe o-ring size, and I have used edgun fill probe from day-one of receiving the mutant, and had no problems. So, 2 mutants and 2 edguns share the same probe….a happy big family. :biggrinn:
Bud, hopefully, the problems will be solved soon, this is much easier to solve than the barrel problems… :winkn:
That’s right I remember now some ass hole never sent you the probe when u bought the gun.

Sloth, my probe looks basically like that, just a little different, but has threads at the end. I just ordered the quick disconnect. I also believe, when I screw it onto the collar of the pump (removed quick connect), it will not seal and need the quick disconnect adapter. Thank you.

Bud, does your probe look kinda like this with the threads on the end? And you’re putting the threaded end into the pump without a quick disconnect? That’d most likely be your problem right there.

Nope, doesn’t matter what position the hole on the probe is, as long as the probe is fully seated. The probe o-rings seal the connection under pressure. To fill, just insert your probe into the air tube fully, pump your heart out, relieve the pressure on the pump, and remove the probe.

Also if the fill cap cover is not aligned right you can nick the O-ring(s) on it when inserting and or removing the fill probe.
It could be also that the fill cap cover is off alignment to the fill hole you can a readjust it by loosening the small Hex set screw on the fill cap.
Push and pull on it to realign and retighten the set screw.

Thank you! I will change out and try again. I also don’t think the probe is sealing in the collar of the hand pump, I think I need the female to male quick disconnect.

Bud, the size of o-ring should be 1.5mmx5.0 mm.

you have to make sure the probe is all the way in. It is a tight fit. Also make sure your line is completely depressurized before removing the probe or it will blow Orings. Your gun should have come with spare rings for the probe.
Thank you Keyser, I will try that. Since it’s different than my Prod, I take it the air outlet on the fill probe must align directly with the air inlet on the mutant cylinder as well? I’m also using a hand pump which I find difficult. Since I am new to the Mutants and fill probe filling, I think a lot has to do with user error.

Awesome, glad it worked. I don’t know why dealers don’t include the QD fittings with the probe.
