Q:

What direction to turn Spin Loc

I have never assembled or disassembled a spin loc…I have a full tank of air…the safety will not disengage so I want to remove the little plastic safety switch. I need to remove the tank…which way does the spin loc need to be turned with the wrench?

Well… the first time i removed the air tank I overlooked the set screw. That made life difficult until my brain kicked in. I use my spin lock wrench all the time, BUT I molycoated EVERYTHING in the immediate area. Now I can tighten or loosen as required. Did I menting that dadgum set screw?!! Oh yeah, right to tight, left to loosen usually get you where you need to be.

Well I over tightened my spinloc collar/tank…. And try as I might. That sucker ain’t coming off. Only result I’ve had… Besides crapping myself when it happened, was to loosen the air tank. I reckon that sucker will be the only thing coming off…. The gauge/spinloc collar will still be stuck in the frame…. Curse the idiot that came up with the spinloc system.

Yes, you are trying to remove the AT bottle from the action/frame right ?
If the spin loc nut is slipping make sure the hex locking screw for the spin loc nut is tight then turn the bottle.

I wouldn’t use the spin loc wrench, don’t think I ever used it ?

Lay a towel on a table with the gun lying flat on it and hold it firmly down.
Grab the bottle hanging off of the tables edge and give it a turn CCW to loosen.

To reinstall adjust the spin loc collar nut to the frame slightly ahead of the bottle final alignment position.
Turn the bottle CW to tighten it up, u might need a couple of trys to get it where u want.

Hope that works for yah Sir.

I was trying not to disassemble my tank (ie, fill nipple and gauge).

I know…lol…From the back of the gun or the front of the gun? I’ve never threaded one in so I don’t know how it installs or removes.
