Don’t have Condor, but Just Ordered A Shroud
I’m fixing up my Sumatra and Career guns, but decided to get a Condor in 25 cal.
Thought long and very hard on a Talon SS or a Condor SS, but after going through my use and the caliber I wanted and the amount of shots per tank ….. I decided on a 24″ barreled Condor and a R&L shroud. The shroud is very important as I don’t want the gun to be noisy as there are often farm houses 400-5– yards away and i don’t want to bring attention to myself.. This gun will be a long range hunter for medium size game or varmints the size of Possum, Coon, Yotes, and small pig.
With the longer barrel I will get the most velocity out of a lighter charge and get more shots at a given speed then if I had a shorter barrel. The only other extra i might order is the Talon Tunes Tank Adapter if the air tanks can be easily changed out like a non Spin-Lock Tank ? … If someone knows the answer, please post !

Just texted TOFAZFOU and he gave me the lo down on the Catalina tank he uses…. I very much like the extra volume, not only more shots, but most importantly – you will get better consistency because of the bigger volume.
I will contact Catalina tomorrow and check them out.

From what I have read and what I have seen, this is a must have. Lowering the cheek height which will bring the scope down is a big deal. I do not plan on using a Picatinny to dove tail rail adapter as I don’t want the little bit of extra height that rail gives. I have some very good rail to 30mm scope rings, and may use two sets. As mentioned on another post, the shrouds came in and they are beauties.
A Question ?? On a 24″ barrel Condor, how much does the barrel stick out ? So if I add 6 inches to that, that would be the new length of my 24″ barrel with shroud attached.

The r&l shrouds are nice. They work well and are rock solid. I have tank dumped from 3400 psi with no issues. It now sits on my 18 in barreled talon with 8 cups. Very nice rig. If you drill 4-5 1/16th holes in the barrels it will quiet it down some more.
That condor in 25 cal will make a nice yote cannon. I have a 22 that has taken 5 yotes in my yard. Running 45 gr slugs at 90 fpe i was blowing right through them out to 40 yards. Didnt shoot any past that.

Wow, My shroud is on the way, along with a Picatinny adapter rail and Picatinny sling mount.
To top this off, AG is having a 13% sale/free shipping with $179.00 order so I bought 12 tins of JSB King Heavy pellets (300 tin).
Waiting to purchase the gun … that may take a little while.

Got through shooting my buddies 22 Caliber Talon SS, I’m pretty sure the LOP is the same as a Condor so I’m in great shape. Being that I get very low on all my stocks I think I will be good without a bunch of special adjustments, I should be able to mount my scope low on the rail.
My buddies gun has an scope adapter and his scope feels way to high for me. I’m sure that a Catalina 9098 tank would be fine with a low scope arrangement for me, giving me about 44% more air volume … I’ll take it ! That should translate into a softer bell curve and more shots, giving me maybe 30 shots in the hunting zone with 33.95gr JSB King Heavies.
If things go according to plan, this gun will be a long range MONSTER… nothing fancy or super custom, no custom ammo, only things not factory would be the shroud and the tank. Doing my best to keep it simple and clean.
The thought of getting 925+fps with a good bell curve using JSB King Heavies and sighting in at 60yds with over 46fpe and 43fpe at 75 yards makes me want to dance ;- )
Like I mentioned in an earlier post, this should be a pretty good High Desert Air Rifle ;- )
