I turned my HMT back on my Standard R3M
My reg is set at 135 BAR. I cleaned the barrel. There was a lot of lead flakes that seemed to come from the choked part of the barrel. My velocity with 25 grain JSB’s is now at 890 fps after turning down the HMT. I shot two magazines over the chrony and my Extreme Spread was 12 fps. Acceptable for my needs. My ‘theory’ is that with my reg turned up to 135 BAR I will have a faster lock time. But I am by no means an expert at this. My theory is likely flawed on many counts. I just thought that I would share this. I will now shoot for accuracy after I mount my new scope rings. My scope is a Burris Timberline 4.5x14x32. A few months ago I had the regulator out and polished all of the Belleville washers and lubed very sparingly with a moly lube (no silicone). I am going to shoot it like this for a while and see what happens. Turning my hammer spring tension down has already given me a better shot count. I am hoping that accuracy will also improve although it’s already a very accurate bullpup with a beautiful tiger striped walnut stock. Reason for this post? Just enjoy talking about this stuff, and hoping that more experienced people will chime in with helpful advice because I certainly have found the benefit of remaining teachable. Happy shooting to all!!!!! :smilen:

Thanks Keyser Soze. I am presently disassembling and cleaning my Hill Mk 3 pump, It was dirty. There are ALOT of parts and a lot of little tubes within tubes, but thanks to a Youtube vid, I am able to proceed without getting lost.
Thanks for your reply. As soon as the pump is working 100%, I will start shooting groups at 50 yards with my EDgun to see if my theory is sound. But I forgot all about the valve return spring and it’s function. I will likely, at some point, need to follow your earlier advice and turn my reg down to 125 BAR. I would already have done it if I still had my Great White carbon fiber tank. But, like a fool, I sold it a year ago. I had to drive a round trip total of 170 miles to get air. It soon grew old. But I should have kept it for maintenance/tuning issues. Hindsight is always clearer. :biggrinn:
