Q:

Regulator problem

Edgun .25 shooting great then one pellet will drop 12″ you can hear pressure dropped, then back to under dime size groups at 60 yards for 25 or more shots, also bolt will come up every once in a while. If regulator needs to be cleaned what kind of lubrication should I use. First problem with gun since ernest work on it. Were can I buy a regulator tester an puller. Thanks

No, when I was testing Cricket regulator the pressure was stabilizing for a couple of seconds after shot simulation. Of course the differences were not big, a couple of bars, maybe less. I do not think it has considerable effect on POI, if any.

quote Cricket:

How fast are you shooting? I find the ES is smaller if you take some time between shots. Some even say you should wait 15 seconds between pulling the trigger

15 secs?

I believe they probably refer to some kind of gas operated devices (excluding from the list of gasses the compressed air in this case).

This is the reason why a gauge on the regulated air chamber would be a good thing and show immediately if the regulator is working properly.

:2cents:

Took regulator apart small o-ring at the top of washers was swelled compared to the factory size oring don’t know if that will cause it to stick and be inconsistent or not we’ll have to try it tomorrow on the chronograph :4:

Changed breach seal , also changed brass washer under barrel to delron washer I purchased from ernest.
Shot gun over cronograph speed from 905 to 945 fps only thing I can think of is to check regulator orings an replace the orings at the washers clean an lube with out ajusting pressure screw. Any ideas? :fishinghole: fishing for answers thanks

I agree with Keyser to check out the breech first before taking the regulator apart.

Thanks for the reply will change bolt o-ring. Ordered regulator tester yesterday an degasser. Chronographed it’s running 930 to 942 then it will drop to 600 then back to 930 only drops to 600 or so for one shot or so per fill been using hand pump just got a scuba compressor. I think the reg needs cleaning o-rings an a light coat ok molykote 55 . I hope I can leave the setting along .

I would start by running a shot string over a chronograph to see what the gun is doing before tearing it apart and messing with the regulator.

If the bolt is popping up I would look at the breech oring first before tearing into the regulator.
