What is considered accurate at 100y with a hunting gun?
Since everyone has different views on accuracy what is the general idea of an accurate hunting rig for 100y? Is it just sub moa or something else? I have personally only shot at 110 y once in my lifetime and only got about 1,7″ ctc but now my gun is more broken in and I have a bit more experience in the field so I intend to shoot 100y again and be a bit more serious about it, see what I can do.
So this is not BR accuracy but hunting accuracy. My intended targets (not necessarily 100y away) are crows and magpies. Just want to see if I can achieve the accuracy required for longer shots

Sometimes I get to shoot sparrows at 100 yards, 25 cricket and 22 cricket, To me that is accurate , I really hate punching paper unless I have to sight in. I did a couple of 100 yard shots with my 22 mutant with polymags shooting euro doves, Impressed my ass,
I really need to Chrono these guns and see how fast they are throwing lead , I got them broke in good.
I really like fast shooting pellets as it makes the rainbow effect just a lot better to deal with.

My conclusion is the gun can shoot sub MOA at 100 y but I cannot make the gun do it in a 9-10 shot group. So I think if you can shoot a 3 shot 100 yard at MOA + 50 % you have a great hunting rig.

I can achieve sub MOA at 100 yards with a 3 shot group on a consistent basis. 5 shot group sub MOA with a bullpup is pretty hard and much more rare. Full magazine sub MOA group … well that is like finding a four leaf clover.

I start with a target the size of the kill zone, which varies a lot. You want to be inside that zone nearly all the time for quick kills.
A 3 inch group with a .45 deer gun is fine, but terrible for a .25 squirrel gun.
