What’s your toughts about Edgun Velez .22?
Hello guys, long time!!!
I’m thinking about buying a Edgun Velez .22 (or a matador .25 standard). I’d like to know more about the velez, can’t find much information. I’m aware it’s a completely different proposition from each one.

MY bro,…. what i cannot understand is,,, what is the type/kind of difference that triggers have ??!! i can make the Edgun trigger very light ,,,and heavy … i tried Benjamin Marauder, FX, HW100, Vulcan, AA, …some others,,, what i could figure it out was only the light and the heavy of the trigger ,,,
if you ask me which cocking system is smooth or light/ comfortable … i can tell you that no one can hit the HW100 cocking mechanism and smoothness … between those PCPs i tried … but when i come to the matter of the trigger i really don’t understand ,,,maybe i m stupid :biggrinn: :biggrinn:
I think you have to compare triggers in real life. Mine is excellent, better then the one that was on my Cricket standard.

in fact i don’t know much about the Veles, i only saw those pics from my wingy bro reviews ,,and have no info if the .22cal hasn’t the open sight ,,, you may know better ,,, and regarding the bulky sights ,,i do agree with you ,,, they look big ,,,
and regarding the trigger of Edguns,,, i don’t know why you guys don’t like it??!!! i wonder someone can explain it in practice and in a good way …show the differences between Edguns and other PCPs … i really want to know what are you talking about regarding the Edgun triggers ,,, :confusedn: :confusedn:
It has accuracty close to the rifle’s accuracy and with open sights you will not be able to get all it can, so red dot scope is the point, it is light, small and allows you to aim better.

No,,,if you watch the pics of my wingy bro review ,,,the open sights are shown very clear and you can use the pistol without the optics …
Brother Pippy ,,, if you are not obliged to sue the pistols with silencers then you can always use the pistols without the silencers ,,, and i don’t remember seen a pistol without a silencer (as an optional) .. all pistols i have seen they have silencers but you can use it or not … your choice …

I didn’t want to sound negative so I haven’t written MY EXPERIENCE concerning the Veles but I will add some words know.
If I’m not mistaken the Veles .22 doesn’t have open sights while the .177 does have them.
Now the open sights on my Veles .177 were COMPLETELY USELESS because they are so bad that the smallest thing you can aim at at 10 meters distance is a target of the size of a family car, the front sight is so big and bulky that you really can’t aim at something smaller than that.
Concerning the moderator, yes you are completely right, you don’t need to use one if you accept shooting a pcp pistol that sounds like a .22LR pistol without silencer.
I didn’t mention the trigger neither because the choice was between two Edguns and the trigger on them has always been bad regardless the model.

Well I believe everything has been said about the Matador so let’s speak about the Veles.
The Veles and the Lelya are very similar and share a common design/project.
One thing you have to consider is that the Veles is a pistol and shots like a pistol (from a holding point of view) so very different from a bullpub even though having many things in common with the Lelya.
If you are into pistols then please consider that the Veles .22 doesn’t have open sights (I think to recall) so you need an optic, do you like shooting a pistol with an optic?
If you add a moderator then the Veles becomes as long as a Lelya….
Finally pick the Veles only if you want and are into pistol shooting with an optic and moderator otherwise I think you will have more satisfaction from a bullpub.
Personally I like pistols but only in real pistol shape (light and short) and with open sights.
Concerning the Veles itself Wingmaster has done a great review.
Since basically you still don’t know what you want, consider also that Ed is coming out with a new product called Leshiy so you know all the available options.

I agree that triggers are very subjective and it also depends of the type of shooting.
If you are into target shooting and know FWB, Anschutz or similar triggers then certainly the Edgun trigger feels like an agricultural tool.
For hunting it is acceptable IMHO.

If you don’t know much about Veles then I would like to inform you also about the popping open breech problem exactly like the Lelya, just in case
I believe nobody has ever used the open sights for more than only a few shots so I agree that at least a red dot is required, what I don’t understand though is why you fit subpar open sights if yourself say they are not suitable?
