Q:

Edgun on song!

A while back I was scratching my head at my R3m and it’s accuracy, it turned out the nut behind the butt was the issue and along with turning speed down a touch from 955fps to 940fps seems to have had good effect.

I recently received a new QD scope mount made by Midwest Industries and it’s a great bit of kit guys!!

I zeroed the scope and removed the QD mount/scope from the rifle and checked zero at a 50yd target…bang on!!

First 50yd Group

Removed Scope – Confirmed Return To Zero Group

So I was a happy man!! :8:

After a prolonged spell of sunburn suffering…my own fault for laying in English sun too long, yes we did have a 4 day summer lol , I decided to validate the trajectory with my Strelok ballistic app & new mount.

Checked zero at 50yds and she was still on, moved back to 75yds and dialled in 25 clicks elevation and got the following group

All good so far!!

Moved the target out too 100yds and dialled the 48 clicks the app computed and the group struck low

Punched in the correction of 3 clicks more elevation and my job was done. I did notice the amazing raw power the .25 retains at 100yds, my target board is a 1″ thick scaffold plank and the Air Arms pellet zipped through a good 3/4″ of it!!!!!

Gotta love these days at the range, all the planets, stars, rainbows aligned for me :8:

Cheers dude, some things are too pretty to look elsewhere and as for Russian ladies & toy’s…..yes I do concur, both are the same – feel nice in the hand and easy on the eyes

Please tell me why the nut behind the butt affected your accuracy? It does not sound possible.

As of the grouping, please shoot 10 groups, 5 shots per each group at 50 yards and then it will give you some picture. 3 shot groups tell nothing. Then post how your choke looks like when it comes to lead accumulation.

Hahaha…ME, being the nut behind the butt, wasn’t used to the rifles quirks so I went back to basics – head position, cheek weld etc etc Mr Soze helped much with his input.

Yep Ted certainly set the cat amongst the pigeons with groups and how many shots per group :biggrinn: but I’m not one to throw endless amounts of lead down range, I simply wanted to validate the trajectory my ballistic app was giving me. I only needed 3 shots to confirm but I do accept that more shots will give more data.

With regard to lead accumulation I give my barrel a pull through every 100-200 shots just to keep her on par. I’ve previously given it a polish so now just keep on top of too much build up.
