Q:

Good thing I didn’t think about it…

Well surfing around last nite I was surprised to see R&L had .177 Cricket Compacts in stock. So I know these are hard to come buy. I also was wondering if I really needed one and maybe I ought to think about it. So this morning I get up and pull the trigger and order one.
So tonite I see both WildWest and R&L are now out of stock on there Cricket Compacts! Good thing I didn’t wait and think about it! They must of went fast. :suprisedn:

I have tried it. To compare it to my 22 Mutant Shorty… the 177 seems to shoot flatter from 18 yards out to 45 yards. It is just as accurate as my Mutant. But there’s more noise from the spring and hammer. I don’t know how they manage to make the Mutant so quiet in that respect. Triggers good and liking the 177 in general. No regrets in the purchase.
Now waiting for the Mutant 177 build and compare the two.

Well I guess I’ll find out tomorrow how it compares to my Mutant Shorty. That gun has spoiled me and hope the Cricket won’t be a disappointment.
Tsakula glad to see your liking yours.

For a gun that supposedly wasn’t a big seller so no dealer wanted to bring them in. What few that come in seem to sell very quickly!

Yeah I’m not a big fun either, the cricket stock is too heavy and bulky and the Mutan’s is ugly. I guess I can throw another $300 for a better stock on either gun.

Yes but they are close. I would consider a .177 Short if it comes along (and keep both .177 and .22 Shorty’s) but would also replace the stock. A stock raises the price.

…..and cheaper! 😉

Brant so you are voting Mutant then? I wish the Crickets come with the skeleton stock, it seems the mutant is lighter.

Short Mutant for better trigger but my triggers are both set in ozs. Lower on Mutant. Both are excellent but i have the original skeleton stock on the Compact and custom walnut on Mutant. Either caliber is fine for my use. I think the valve is stronger on the Mutant.

I’m thinking on getting a .177 Bullpup, between the Cricket compact and the Mutant short, what would you choose?

I missed that in a quick look. Good deal!!! Sounds like a small order of them got distributed.

As I said I ordered it this morning and it has been shipped!

They are now the same outfit and it is likely they didn’t have any to begin with.
