Quick detatch LDC adaptor?
Is there a way to make some sort of quick detatch adapter for a LDC so you can put it on real quick? Say you have a gun that uses an LDC but it will only fit in your fancy case without the LDC, but you want to be able to attatch it real quick without screwing it on for 30 seconds or whatever. Possible? Some sort if “twist lock” or magnet?

Yea I got to take the LDC off my Mutant shorty as I store it in the pistol part of my gun safe,,,
I shoot it 80% of the time without the LDC any way,
The only real reason I have LDCs on my guns is to impress my friends, And maybe to keep the wife happy,
Nothing impresses like , Screw the LDC on shoot the gun, poof, pellet goes thud, Its the wow factor,

I have to admit, you start a lot of threads asking weird questions. It takes 10 seconds to pick up and screw on a threaded LDC with an adapter. If you can’t spare 10 seconds, perhaps you should 1, shoot without the LDC attached, or 2, don’t remove the LDC in the first place. Alignment is key when installing an LDC unless you want to blow the end cap off of it or simply ruin the internals. Some things in life you can’t take short cuts such as screwing on an LDC or taking time to aim before you shoot.

Actually, no there currently isn’t…but you can achieve the same end in a different way!
You maximize the effectiveness of the existing shroud.
If the gun is already fairly quiet, like the Edguns, Mutants, Vulcans, Crickets, and Marauders…you can increase the efficiency of the factory shroud. How? Slow down the exhaust gasses, add to or change to more effective baffles, or reduce the volume of exhaust gasses.
The first example is simple, reduce the FPS at which you shoot and thus reduce the amount of gas propelling the pellet. Secondly, you can find or design a more effective baffle system, buy additional factory baffles. Lastly, vent the shroud to reduce the gas pressure after it leaves the muzzle and before it hits the baffle system!
Muzzle blast is all about two things…high air pressure and fast exhaust of these gasses out of a small hole. That equates to a loud report when the gun is fired. Reduce or slow the muzzle gas discharge and noise goes down. It’s that simple!
How you do it is up to you. I prefer to vent my shrouds in the dead air space before the baffles. It is easily done and has never failed to reduce the gun’s report. Reduce…not eliminate.
Remember this…perception of the report of a gun being discharged has two elements…how far away is the listener, and what does the listener actually hear?
Subsonic muzzle reports don’t carry far. How low you need to make it depends on how far away is the potentially offended listener located. Secondly…WHAT doe the listener actually hear?
If you can change the amount of air pressure reaching the baffles, or slow the discharge of air, you can modify the “tone” of the muzzle report, so the listener, however far away, can’t identify the sound as the firing of a pellet rifle.
This is done by venting, reducing FPS, or adding to, or modifying the baffle system or design. A lessor used technique is to replace the shroud with a larger diameter, or longer shroud…but not all gun designs permit this. I did it on an Air Ranger and it made a difference.
Think about these options if you want to go without an LDC.
