Vulcan Tactic Baffles
I have a Vulcan Tactic. Lately I’ve noticed that around 60yrds the pellets begin to spiral. Yes, I’ve tried different pellets, JSB 25 grain seems to be the best for me. Velocity is not too high at 885fps. Happens even when loading the pellets without the magazine. Barrel is clean.
What is the proper way to remove the baffles to check them? Do you remove the shroud from the gun 1st and then remove the end cap to get to the baffles (after unscrewing the cover to the end cap) or do you go through the open end of the shroud after removing it? Can the baffles be checked without removing the shroud?
Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, I plan to remove the shroud to see if there is an improvement. If there is an improvement checking the baffles would be the next step. I’m a little limited time wise and I want to do this in one session so I would like to know the proper way to inspect the baffles if it comes to that. Besides, I plan to own this gun for awhile and the more I know about it the better.
Why don’t you try it first without the shroud? Shoot with the naked barrel if you suspect something inside the shroud is clipping. Just unscrew the shroud.

jih, I too have/had that same issue, not all pellets spiral but more than 50% just started out of no where. Did a lot of troubleshooting, question have you noticed that your magazine from time to time doesn’t going the magazine slot? Maybe thought your scope slide or something and cause it to interfere with the magazine? I video taped shooting with and without a shroud installed shooting kings, MKII’s, AA, and MKI’s didn’t matter. I didn’t really see it at 50 yards but it became clear at 75 and 100 yards. Long story short i think it was because my barrel moved causing the pellet probe to either stick the pellet too far down the barrel or not far enough. What i notice was sometime the magazine would not go in smoothly which was because the barrel was showing in the magazine well. I sent it to The Guru to give it a once over anyway, so it in his hands right now (he hasn’t said he found anything wrong with her) but i will get her back sometime next month and will give you a follow up. But if you find something before then drop me a line.
