Moving to Kauai: Places to Fill Tanks?
I’m new to the PCP world. Just got a Taipan Mutant Shorty and a Hill Pump. Kauai has SCUBA shops all over. If I were to buy a tank, would they be able to fill? I’m assuming that the tank would likely have a DIN valve. I’m a certified diver as well. I don’t mind pumping, but I currently live in CO where I don’t have to worry about humidity. On Kauai, I don’t think even the desiccant on the pump will be able to keep all that moisture out.

I don’t know about Kauai but here in Honolulu there is only one place that I know that top fills to 4500psi and they charge 25$ per fill.
I have a dive shop right down the street where we live, but they only fill to 3000psi ……… not high enough.
You need to contact the dive shop to see how high they can fill to.

In the long run I got tired of hand pumping my PCPs and when with a Omega SC and never looked back ever since.
Trouble is I’ve been topping of CF tanks for my friends, they pay me in pellets though ……. :biggrinn:
If you planning to hand pump I’d go with the Hill Mk3 or 4 and run a room dehumidifier, a AC unit too would help get it down to 30% RH.
