Q:

Looking for help and opinions

Hey everyone long time Marauder shooter here. I do not own a condor yet but I’m getting ready to make my order soon. I will be ordering from Randy at R&L. Now here’s what I want to do, I want to stay with 25 caliber instead of .257 do to shot count. I will be ordering my Condor with a 24-inch Barrel and the extreme valve install the reasoning for the valve is because I want to be shooting .251 slugs out of it in order to retain shot count with better ballistic coefficients. Will I need an adjustable top hat with this valve? I will also be ordering the heavy hammer and spring for it. My goal is to shoot 251 swage slugs from mr. Hollow-point or Jerry or Nielsen specialty ammo but not shooting anything lighter than the Grizzlies. My ultimate goal here is to have laser point accuracy at 100 yards at least. What do you think? What would you change to my mods? Do you have an entire different build you might suggest? I am very new to the Air Force Platform…. but not new to modifying I have modified my Marauder to make 65 foot pounds at the muzzle with laser point accuracy @ 107.5 yards currently. Let me know what you think always looking for expert opinions and information. Thanks fellas. Also this rifle is going to be used for hunting this will not be a target plinking rifle I know most will say go 257 with this but from what I understand with the factory tank on this rifle I’m going to get maybe five shots from it. I really don’t know this is why I Turn to You guys thanks again

I am thinking of getting a 18″ .257 cal barrel for it

I too would be really interested to hear about the performance of an 18″ .257. Have any of you tried it?
What would be required to make the conversion?

The high flow valve is going to be the killer for you in shot count. Like I said my condor is bone stock. It is a ss so it has a 18″ barrel. I am thinking of getting a 18″ .257 cal barrel for it so I can use .25 pellets and .257 bullets for it. The H&N grizzly’s I have now (31 grain) are the closest to bullets I have used yet. They will put holes in file cabinets at 30 yards. H&N barracuda 31 grain pellets will not.

Lol yes… Soup can size is fine…. But I’m going for 100 yrds min…. 65 shots on a 22 is nice but in .257 at that range say using 71gr what’s the count then? I know with a .25 31fr will get about 30… I think

On a Condor I have not counted yet. Now on my Talon SS in .22 on pw setting 6 I can hit a soup can for over 65 shots at 35 yards. The condor I bet would do 30 with factory parts. Now I am talking soup can size targets not .0000001 of a inch

It’s either that or straight .257 build… But then what’s my shot count look like

You should be fine with that setup. Let me know how you like it I am thinking of some upgrades myself. At 75 yards the tree rats go down with a stock ss but not as fast as I would like. Oh and :tag:

The main use of this rifle is long range hunting past 100 yards

I have a 100% stock condor ss in .25 It will crack skulls at 30 + yards with 31 grain pellets no problem on PW setting 6. I would say just play around a bit before you start going hog wiled with mods. :2cents:

Buuuuuuuump

Bump….. Nobody?
