After owning my EDgun Matador Standard in 22 cal (PICS ADDED)
I have never owned a more accurate rifle, air powered or otherwise. At 50 yards, with 16 and 18 grain Exacts (958 fps average w/ 18 grain Exacts, and 1004 fps average with 16 grain Exacts) while using a bipod, I can regularly shoot 10 shot groups at under a half inch. I have the newer model that has the protective sleeve over the fill port and plastic magazines. I am using a Burris Timberline 4.5x14x32 scope. I just felt that it was worth saying. VERY happy with this gun. I have a witness that is a member here as we are both EDgun fans. In fact, he was the man who turned me onto the EDgun and I have not looked back since. WELL DONE ED at EDgun!!!!

Good shooting! Vary good actually!
:smilen: I sincerely appreciate the feedback Uncle Hoot. I have since re-zeroed my gun to shoot on zero. I was just using the black circles as a Point of aim. I was interested in seeing how tight the gun would group rather than sighting in. As an after-thought, using the same point of impact in the pics, I have managed to kill over 40 squirrels. Still though, you make a very valid point and it goes hand in hand with my OCD. So it’s zeroed in properly now. :smilen:
In the interest of full disclosure, I created this thread after watching one of Ed’s videos (The EDgun channel on Youtube) where he stated that it would be nice to see more positive reviews on the EDgun…..so I obliged, as I am quite happy with the three EDguns that I have owned (one of which I still own).
:hoot:
Kevin…I don’t want to be a kill joy, or spoil your most excellent groups at 50 yards…but may I point out on the top target, you completely missed both of those little black circles!
It was a really nice try. However, I’d recommend shooting about 1/2″ lower and just a tad to the left. You know?….just saying…..there’s an excellent chance you will gradually improve over time!
Kind regards,
Uncle Hoot:
Here are two pics showing three 10 shot groups. The first pic was taken after I shot two consecutive ten-shot groups with 18 gr Exacts @ 958fps ave:

And a few days later, I decided to shoot a ten shot group with 16 grain Exacts (1004 fps ave):

I didn’t originally plan on putting this stuff into a forum, as it was only between my airgunning friend and myself. I shot these groups using a bipod. Without the bipod, I doubt seriously if I could shoot groups as tightly. All of these were at 50 yards. May stetch her out in the next few days. I really need a better scope for 100 yard action. But I’ll make do. Y’all have an awesome day!!!!!!! And thanks for the replies and stuff.

The PCPs come and go but the springers will always have their place.
HW97, AA TX200, AA Prosport, etc they are real pieces of state of art!
They are self-contained and will never let you down.
Speaking low powered, the FWB 300S is probably the best springer ever made (IMHO) and I would never let her go! Such a great work of art!
There are only few pcps which I really felt in love and the R3 was one of them, this was before Ed decided to make the “improvements”.
Having only target shooting applications, there is another thing that makes me prefer springers over pcps and this is durability.
A springer if well treated and properly maintained is forever, the pcps on the other side with all the o’rings and air cylinder under high pressure at some time can become unreliable or even dangerous.

You could use postimage.org
Yes, I took pics of the groups that I shot, (and I didn’t shoot several groups and pick out the best ones). With a 200 BAR fill I can get 4 magazines of shots. Maybe a few more, but I always refill before it drops off the reg because I don’t want to do any unnecessary pumping. I’ll post pics to this thread when uploaded to photobucket.
And to all who replied to my post, thanks.
PS: Mike, I haven’t fully given up springers yet although I don’t own one. I have enough tuning crap accumulated to (springs, guides, tophats, etc etc, to always be on the lookout for an HW95 (preferably with the shorter stock that doesn’t cover the hinged area) or an HW97K……which I will probably get as the next FT season draws near. There is something still endearing about a good looking, well tuned, ’95 or ’97. Y’all have a great day.

My Dear Pimple:
The Huben K1 looks to be delivering the goods…a genuine semi-auto pcp that can hit what it’s shooting at.
Better have access to 4500 psi, that rascal is going to eat some serious air!!!
Hoot:
You know what…I still prefer the single shot…a multi-shot magazine leaves me cold. I even shoot my Mutant Shorty single shot. Just a preference towards taking my time, breathing a little between shots, and thinking about what’s happening with the gun that particular day.
Hoot:
Dear Uncle,
I have the same attitude that’s why I always preferred the R3 over the R3M.
But I’m also following the developments of a new project in semi-auto, the Huben K1, looks promising.
Congrats my bro. …
Yes…it is right… Edgun is a great PCP in deed… i cant own any guns except dguns …. they are survived and passed the test with me …
Well hootster now you can have your cake and eat it too with the new single shot adaptor. Just saying 🙂
:hoot:
I’ve owned several Edguns in the past seven years. I can sum up how they shoot in two words….straight and hard!

Congrats! How many shots you got at this velocity? and Can you show us some pics?
Yep, can be described in two words, simply amazing or as I normally would say holly grail of bullbups!
So Kevin sounds like you have put the springers on the back burner since getting Edguns. I did the same for a few years but once again I find myself lusting after a couple springers and have acquired a few classics that seem to feel that niche once again between hunting times with the two Edguns.
Cheers, glad to see you so worked up over the edguns!

Dear Kevin…
I am your humble and obedient servant! I merely comment in order to press you ever forward towards perfection.
I look in awe as I watch your progress towards every airgunner’s dream…a 0.199″ hole from a .22 caliber, 10 shot group!!!
Kindest regards,
Semi-literate, senile, but never wrong…Uncle Hoot:
