I bet they have a go, no go plug guage for the inside dimensions and a slip guage for the outside and they all were fine.
Just looks to me the put the billet casting in the jig fixture off center and when the processes were all finished the receiver was just to thin on that one side.
QC would miss that with guages that are go, no go type. You would want to mic the wall thickness to be sure of the raw block casting or billet being centered.

Taking the thread content away and saying you were threatened makes them look very bad so I’m hoping it was more a misunderstanding along the line somewhere. Surely a large company like that wouldn’t actually threaten someone for giving an honest appraisal of their product?!
From the pics I have seen, that particular gun was terrible. I’d have done the same thing as you did in letting your fellow shooters know.
I have many guns including cheap Chinese ones and have never seen a new gun in anything like the state yours was in. And it’s not even an isolated incident from reading AGN. That should never have left the factory.
Far from threatening you, the main man should have contacted you to thank you for pointing out the defects which allow him to fire his sub standard QC team.

Had it been me and the manufacturer wanted to reach out to me personally, I would have told them they provided a piss poor product and ask that they deliver on what they promised. Most of us purchase with the thought of receiving a quality product especially if it’s pushing a $2K price tag. I don’t buy something of that nature with the intention of returning it for a refund unless the QC was as poor as the gun you received. Live and learn I guess.

LOL! I hate to laugh at your situation since it’s not at all funny but rather silly and shocking. In this day and age of online media, customer service is the key to success. Companies large and small can be impacted by a single key stroke. Can you imagine if Tim Cook lashed out at a user after providing them a subpar iPhone with obvious QC problems? Instead of further exacerbating a bad situation, manufacturers should just own up and apologize for delivering a product with poor QC. It would cost them very little to fix it. In this situation they should have offered an exchange of a hand inspected gun and boost that they stand behind their product and service. Hell, the buyer is in the same country as the manufacturer. Again, it would cost them very little to fix this problem. Instead the nasty truth about the story ends up circulating the web.
I’ve heard great stories about some manufacturers going the extra mile to fix problems. Like the Vulcan owner not only getting his problem fixed but having some bonuses thrown in as a good gesture. Hell, even Ed@Edgun cares about customer service so the tide has changed. In this case however I guess success is blind and/or empowering.

First off
Leave the lad alone. He did what he thought was best, we all learn part of life’s mystery.
If anyone feels so strongly about this issue with FX contact them directly.
Other than that agree fully on two counts.

Makers should pay more attention to QC , which is not Queens Counsel as in Barristers (UK ), it takes time to develop one’s market and minutes to have it ruined. Take Lancia and their rusting years ago as an example. As indeed I stated in other forum areas

Unfortunately the whole marketing of airguns in UK is done by magazines who are not honest in their findings due to being in the pockets of their advertisers. This goes further in so far as they do not write about most items which are not advertised therein. Recently one magazine wrote an article on night vision products and never mentioned some of the best ones which I know they know about. How Puerile. How short sighted and how shallow they consider their readers are. Recently a reader wrote in with I thought a good idea. Test a few guns at the same time , same conditions same pellets etc and print the results. The Editor’s comment it would not work and proceeded to cite scopes as an example. What rot! Accuracy shot count and shot string are objective not subjective like scopes due to eyesight etc etc.
The industry needs a Trumpesque shake up.
Finally , sorry to rant , I too have had my forum mutterings edited out or retitled , not yet though on this site. This used to happen in the old Iron Curtain days, why do we put up with it???
