Q:

Looking for a quick answer – please help

For people who own both Cricket and Mutant, how is the difference when it comes to scope height? Is the Mutant the same as the Cricket without a Cheek piece? So if you have a Cricket with a Cheek piece, and then remove it, will it be like the Mutant? I need to know.

Thanks Greg! Just the info I needed.

The distance between the top of the barrel to the top of the picatinny rail is 24 mm.

It’s very ergonomic, more so then the Crickets I have which for some wouild like a cheek piece/rest but that will in turn will raise your eye height.
The receiver on the Mutant has a comfortable beveled edge, which make it seem like for some with a shallow cheek bone could go with an even shorter ring height.

If somebody could give Me this measurement today that would be awesome, from the top of the barrel to the top of the picatinny rail. On the Cricket it is about 22,5mm

Thanks

I have a better Idea, can someone measure the distance between the top of the barrel to the top of the picatinny rail for Me? That way I can compare it to my Cricket and see if the scope base is raised the same height as Cricket

I will say yes without even looking at my two guns, I have high mounts on both, If I could get by with short mounts I would have already.
But I have a big head and fat cheeks.

Is it ergonomic? I don’t like pushing my cheek down on the action, just gently rest it

I don’t have a cricket, but my scope height on the Shorty (bore axis to scope axis) is 2.12″ using a low mount and a Clearidge RM 3-9×32. This is pretty low even compared to some of my springers.
