Q:

Winter Mirage and Sparrows at High Magnification

Eleven sparrows today so far but the winter mirage is pretty bad. 13 F and not a cloud in the sky. Part of the problem is I like using 36x and a few shots have been past 75 yards.

Mirage can happen in the summer or winter, and winter mirage can be much worse than summer mirage even w/o barrel heat.

It has nothing to do with the quality of the lenses. Larger objectives are more affected by mirage than smaller ones, and higher power is affected more than lower power.

Anyone else enjoying the fun?
