Q:

KomPtec Compressors

Does anyone have experience with KomPtec compressors ? I am looking at the K 70 ,it is a 3 stage belt driven and has a web site that actually lists parts, manuals and support contacts ,so it looks like they have established support and parts here in the US, instead of pay your money and roll the dice .Already have one door stop elcrapo compressor now with no parts available, support don’t answer the phone or answer e mail. Kinda like the design of 3 actual tried and proven piston design, low vibration transfer to the compressor, way less money than a Bauer, filter cartridges and a manual :8: :8: . Just spooked since I fell for purchasing the Supreme POS that never did meet performance claims, quality or getting the package you paid for, everything seemed to change in what you got after you paid the money. Karma will get even one day

Missed this thread earlier..

We are rolling out the Komptec Compressor in the US. A few notes on what is in the thread.

All compressors around 3 CFM I’ve seen are intermediate duty. The KT-90 is 90 liters per minute. The KT-70 is at 70 LPM.

The KT-70 will fill the Great White 6.8L cylinder in under 30 minutes, the KT-90 would fill in faster, under 24 minutes. Well under that 45 minute limit. So what this means is this unit, like basically all the competition in the 100 lpm class, can be used to fill tanks, but not used to fill a cascade system.

Why consider the Komptec? We’re a German manufacturer with decades of HPA experience. Our KT-70 operates w/ a 2HP motor, consuming less than 20A at 115V. No one comes close to that. If you have 230V, the KT-90 would be a good choice.

Our design has kept improving over time, and has advantages over the competition. Our operating costs are a feature. We have a 500 hour oil change interval, and our filters have a good lifetime. For the KT-90, it is 10 hours at 86F for Breathing Air, with the non breathing air filter, it is 2x that.

Service / Parts? We are new to the US market, but not to the Air Gunner market. Shooting Clubs in German / Austria are our largest market today. Last time I was in the factory, they were doing a service on a 15 year old unit.

And yes, we do look forward to more visibility as we team with good distributors.

For 2800$ you can buy a brand new (max air35) Coltri. They can be used for scuba too….

I would not waist my money on something with minimal support in the usa .

Coltri parts can be had.from.many various Dealers in the usa.

Based on a post on the Yellow, I think we now know who is going to be carrying these on the west coast. It’s someone I got my Bauer Jr from.

Cross that one off the list, 45 minute duty cycle is way too short to fill tanks, the search continues

You are comparing the run time of the KomPtec to compressors which have much lower air output. One run cycle would fill a 97 cubic foot Great White tank from zero to 4500 psi in less than 45 minutes. From then on, you would be topping off your tank in about a 10 to 15 minute run cycle from 3000 psi back to 4500 psi. Are you confusing the run time to that of a Shoebox, Omega, etc. that takes several hours to fill a tank? Actually, for a hobbyist, this is a much higher quality, German made compressor with specifications far exceeding what a single airgunner could ever wear out.

You should reconsider. I also think that the Carette 4500 will be a nice compressor once the final version is released. It will include an auto moisture bleed timer, run on 110 volts at less than 15 amps, and has passed a 24 continuous run test. If I hadn’t already purchased a Bauer, I’d seriously consider the KomPtec and the Carette. Looks like things are getting better for affordable, reliable 4500 psi compressors.

Are you going to be filling a bulk tank batterie with it or just one or two scuba tanks?
45min 15min duty cycle is pretty normal on compressors this size, that are air cooled and not suited to continues run.
45min, and what output?
90l/min and 45min is around 4000l so you can fill 12l bottle to 330bar give or take some.
How many bottles are you planning on filling?

The 90 model can only run for 45 minutes before you need to rest it for 15 minutes. Says it right in the manual. It’s not constant duty
