Q:

Newbie

Hello everybody!
I’m new to the forum. I have been into airguns for at least 30 years but have only recently acquired a gunpower stealth (airforce talon). I’m from the UK and so am restricted to 12fpe. I love the stealth but putting it through a chrony with 15.89 gr JSBs only got 8.8fpe so it obviously needs some work to bring it up to about 11. It is a new 2015 or 2016 model so has the anti-tamper stuff. I have studied these pages and other places on the web. Will try a quick top hat adjustment when I get an 0.05″ allen key. I could put a higher flow valve in etc. Will a simple top hat adjustment on a “new” stealth work?
Cheers.
Looking forward to reading through the forum.
Regards,

Scotty

Cheers guys!
Adjusted top hat as far as I could. Power over chrony varied from 8 to 11.5 fpe but not consistent. This was with rws superdomes at 14.5 gr and jsb exacts at 15.89gr. (.22!). I will try heavier pellets when I get some to see if they do any better.
Next move might be a different valve and regulator set-up. I’ll “run it in” a bit more first though!

Welcome gentlemen, there is a ton of great info here, and many with deep knowledge about the platform. Try to search, and don’t forget the Quick Reference section as you will find many answers there as well. This can be a rough and tumble bunch, so as long as you can take a little abuse, and roll with it, you will fit in just fine. We take pride in being able to say what we want, and still get along just fine.

Again welcome,

Casey

Welcome to the addiction gents.

No problem tm. Just glad i could help out a little.

Hello, new here too, my screen name gives away what I’m shooting, and still waiting for some extras, tri-rail, high rings, heavier ammo, before I can really get into what the gun will do. But the first shots taken in the basement bring a smile to my face as far as chrony numbers at various pw settings with a top hat shim. Hoping the gun will perform accurately at moderate speeds for the most shots.
I’ve been reading here a LOT the past couple days before registering and I like to PM members “in the know” sometimes (thanks onebaddj) and get their experiences, and I will offer my experiences when and where I feel I can add.
Happy New Year to all.

Mine didn’t come with any tools.
It’s just the 0.05″ allen key I need.
Happy New year to you all 🙂

I know when you get a new airforce in the states they come with the allen keys you need. If not, it maybe the funny inch size we use here on the other side of the pond :fishinghole:

Thanks for the welcome.
Yeah I’ll try to adjust the top hat when I get the right allen key and go from there. As u say. Need to bed it in for a while and see how it goes :p

First :tag: You should be able to get a little more power out of it with a top hat adjustment. Give it some time to break in too. When every thing settles in you may see a little more power.
