Hey Joe,
Sure man, but PM not necessary cause I don’t hold any top secrets ……… unless, it’s about tuning ? :biggrinn:

Here are some links to just about everything you will need to know about the Omega SC and the setup I have.

and more here …

My Omega SC run great with no problems …… YET …. ever since (06/03/2015) …. and it should serve me for awhile and I’m not planing to up grade her anytime soon.
But, there are a lot of new comers that are a bit more affordable with faster fill rates but don’t ask me which one to get because of the above I don’t follow the new Compressor trend.

Maybe someone will chime in here to give u more advice about the new ones out.
If u have any more question just reply back here Joe, it’s your tread Sir.

Yah, I just bit the bullet like guykuo said and got the whole shebang and never looked back.

I understand being new to PCP and on a budget, but it’s better to be safer then sorrier …… … when it comes to HPA !

Hey Greg – would you mind PM or email me the list of items you purchased for that set up? Links to sources would be great too

Thanks
Joe

+1 on best fittings. Shopped there twice and great products!

I prefer to shop best fittings instead. http://www.bestfittings.co.uk/shopdisplaycategories.asp

You don’t get that used car salesmen approach :winkn:

I have no problem filling from my scba valve. … lots of others do the same.

Set it up with a tee… bleeder in one side hose on other… and quick connect on the other end…

Ray is absolutely right to warn about the regular tank valve opening too quickly. Filling an airgun requires very controlled flow. This differs from the full on/full off usually desired for breathing air application.

Also, this valve still has too low a pressure range on the gauge.

I would swap it out for someone more appropriate rather than continuing to add on stuff like regulators and adapters to make it work.

Bit the bullet ONCE now. Get a slow flo valve and filling setup. Be happier and safer later.
Being too cheap with HP air is just foolish.

The inlet/outlet connection is a standard SCBA connection. You will need a hand tight filler connection to hook to the tank. You will also need some sort of throttle or regulator valve so that the air doesn’t “slam” when you open the tank valve. Additionally, you will need a bleeder so that, when you shut the air flow off, you can drop the pressure rapidly so that the foster valve seats.

The Vulcan air cylinder fills to 250 bar. (3600 psi)
A 3000 psi rated system won’t fully fill the Vulcan. If you are dealing with dive shops that are unfamiliar with airguns, they may not be used to our higher than SCUBA pressure needs. Some dive shops can’t even fill a tank beyond 3,000 PSI. Even worse, might sell you a tank that is only rated for the 3,000 psi pressures they are used to dealing with. 3000 psi is below “empty” for Vulcan usage.

How foreign might our pressures be? Eyes practically popped out when I said 4500 PSI for my CF tank to a friend who dives and runs a RIX compressor and booster to fill his own dive tanks. For him, 4500 was an insane fill pressure. It’s routine for air gunners. We don’t use a lot of volume, but we use really high pressures.

OP actually should be using a 4500 psi rated tank, valve, and fill system.
The Stickman looks like a neat SCBA fill system.

Don’t mess around with high pressure air. Make certain everything is rated for the high pressures involved.

That valve only goes up to 3000 psi, what is the tank rated at?

I’m not familiar with the vulcan, but I went to talontunes website and found this
Maximum Pressure = 250 bar – 3625 psi

If that fill pressure is correct you are going to want to fill with a 4500 psi tank.

You can find a used 4500 scba tank on ebay and use our stikman

STIKMAN – SCBA PCP Fill System

Looks like tony has an adaptor that would then plug into the foster female on the stikman.

Vulcan/Taipan Fill Probe With Male Adapter

Roger

That looks like an SCBA valve, but I am a bit concerned by how few threads there appear to be on the valve. I think you would need an SCBA to DIN300 adapter. That around $70 and you will still have a fast flow valve rather than a more controllable slow flow. If you connect the Vulcan whip, add QD before its probe you’re already adding another $100 to get this working.

I really don’t want to read like a Brancato advertisement, but personally, i’d bite the bullet now and completely swap out your valve, garage, and fill whip for something that will be easier and more pleasurable to use LONG term. You will spend a little bit more now, but end up with a lot better setup.

TJ3 SLO-FLO Gun Fill DIN300 VALVE and HOSE ASSEMBLY
http://www.airtanksforsale.com/#TJ3_SLO_FLO_Valve

That will get you into a much easier to control flow valve, a very reliable quality micro bore whip, and proper QD on the end of the whip.
For an even more convenient setup, inquire about doing that with a option 2A hose assembly instead of a DIN 300 hose. That will give you male foster QD on the tank and female QD on both ends of the whip.

I’m trying to get you into a better grade valve and connectors that won’t require screwing on/off during filling the tank or gun.
If you end up with a compressor of your own, its output whip will most likely be a female QD.

Then again, you might be using a local fill source and will need your tank fill adapter to fit their equipment.

Lol, I work for MSA. But with ear protection, not valves like that. So can’t help you 😛
