vulcan tune up

Hi guys
I’m writing from England shire .
Have recently purchased direct from the Czech Republic a Vulcan 22 FAC. However for legal reasons the supplier shipped the gun as a sub 12th ftp. And I’m having some issues with getting it to shoot straight in it’s FAC version .
If I get 1 inch group at 50 yards I’m doing good.
Guys I could do with some numbers.

Working fill pressures.
Regulator pressure.
F P S
E S
Best pellets. .I’ve tried a dozen or so of the usual suspects but with little effect.
Realistic grouping at 50 yards.
And any additional tweets that comes to mind…pollish the barrel..etc

The vulcan is a lovely piece of kit. Although I’m not fond of the stock. I have the tactical version and the pistol grip is way too short for my use. I’d prefer it in a lighter synthetic type. But overall the gun is superb. I just wish it would shoot straight.

Further add

Those two stock bolts can come loose, check tightness.

18gr jsb heavies @880fps approx should be the best settings. The fac version should have another hammer spring + higher set regulator at 130 bars approx. if u only changed your hst and kept the sub12 reg pressure low you re not going to get good accuracy. U should be able to reach 1/2 inch groups at 50y the gun is perfectly capable of that. Make sure that u dont have any clipping in the moderator by shooting groups without it to compare. Then make sure the 4 barrel clamp screws are correctly tightened. Do not overtorque u might break the screws. Also check that the 2 screws holding the scope picatinny rail on the gun are well tightened. They can get loose and the gun will lose zero after some recoils therefore widening the group. There is no guide or pin and its one of the vulcan issues that should be corrected in the future. The scope rail is only held by these two small screws on which all alignement and consistency rely..

Again, only try 18gr@880fps. If u cant get excellent groups at this speed, with this pellet, u will not have better with any other pellet / speed. U might as well try a different batch of 18grains, switch to another tin of pellets and try again.

Have a FAC .25

Think the V gun takes some bedding in, more so than Cricket.
Only use JSB pellets.
FPS set to around the 900 fps figure
Obviously clean the barrel. What year is yours? Think the regulator design was changed last year.
Just fire it for 500 or so shots, mine definitely tightened up the groups.
Failing that weak point is always the pellets, inspect and wash them all , several times until water is clean. To avoid flyers the FT brigade weigh theirs. Laborious task but……
My ES originally over 5 mags (.25) was in double figures now in single figures with SD around 3 to 4.
Finally does the pellet load smoothly even the last part? The side lever mod makes a big difference.

Have you checked for pellet clipping? shooting without shroud. Polished barrel is my usual answer because my CZ barrel is and is shoots great. .45″ at 58 yards
