Q:

Ernest Tune?

How long does it usually take for Ernest to respond to emails?

Also, does anyone know how much a tune is for a Vulcan 22?

Yes, I have a reg tester but I didn’t have the time to take the gun apart, etc. Could I have fixed the reg – yes but I’m not sure that was the only issue. I had Ernest do his full tune so I’m hoping the barrel has been polished, trigger adjusted and all of the other little tweaks he does.

Sometimes life gets in the way of doing what one wants to do. But I knew I’d need it working well in the spring. Can’t wait to get it back.

you could perhaps ask him to stop messing around your gun with pointy/sharp hard metal tools. noticed it already on old videos.
i would certainly not like it, just like his electric screwdriver. it just wont turn me on, must have taken a few turns to work out the correct torque

so you own a reg tester but cant be bothered to look into the reg? :biggrinn:

Well, it seems my vulcan was SICK. Ernest made this video of my regulator:

Can’t wait to get it back!!!

Last time I contacted Ernest, he replied quickly, I used the: matomaya@earthlink.net address. He’s done a couple guns for me-always a pleasure to see what they do afterwards.

Ernest will without a doubt get it fixed back up.

If you have adjusted the rotating piece AND things are cocking correctly, it’s probably something else.

Also replace the barrel o-ring. That’s overdue for replacement at 6,000 pellets.

Remove your scope and check the two bolts that hold the Picatinny rail to the amidship assembly are tight.
Those can stealthily loosen at let the Picatinny rail shift around.

He did a great job on mine. He used my Vulcan when he made his U-tube video about the Vulcan Mods.

Good to hear benj, I was going to call him and see if he was out of town.

Thanks Zonk. Going to ship to him in about a month. If I can find some time, I may “play” some more but it’s definitely going to Ernest.

Yes. That is the piece. Tried adjusting it a few times to try to get it back to original location without success. I think it was you that mentioned it in another thread. Adjusting, shooting, adjusting scope several times didn’t get the POI back consistently. Ran out of time.

Ernest should be able to make it better than original. It should really out shoot me then.

Good to hear benj, I was going to call him and see if he was out of town.

I think you rotated the cocking rod picked that slides back and forth on the barrel. That will change the depth to which pellets seat and alter shooting characteristics. Rotating that paced from one hole to another shifts the cocking position and pellet seating forth/aft on the gun

No, he hasn’t Was going to have it done after I got the Vulcan but decided to get a reg tester and work on it a little myself. Learned a lot and it shot well.

Now after adjusting the piece that the bolt knob goes into when I installed the lever, it isn’t shooting well. May be coincidence. I readjusted that piece last weekend and did some test shooting. Made numerous scope adjustments back and forth and basically chased POI. I’ve got over 6000 pellets through it so may just be time for a professional tune up. I don’t have the time to work on it right now but would like it to be shooting well by spring.

BTW, Ernest got back to me about half hour ago. So we are now communicating. He’s back logged a couple months.

benj, I thought Ernest already did a tune for you??

I usually call him and talk to him. I haven’t heard if he’s stopped doing tunes for people. I know he does a great job, he’s done two of mine.

Well, 4 days and no response. How does everyone else contact Ernest?

I have emailed Ernest several times to buy some stuff from him and nothing…

Good Luck. :fishinghole:
